Always check the provenance of any piece because some of adams stuff is pretty basic and could be copied by someone. I just would hate to see someone spend a grand on a piece of worthless card

While I know I'm being slightly hypocritical - because I'm not hiding the fact that given the right piece/price I'd consider purchasing a street piece. This is from an email I had with Adam a few months ago...
"The work I leave on the streets is solely a personal thing and in no way meant to be sold for money. I have been receiving random emails from people asking me to authenticate various paintings I left in the streets years ago. I have painted over 6000 pieces for the streets, many of them I don't remember painting! It confuses me when people can not see the difference between these 5 minute paintings and a piece I have spent weeks working on for Elmslesters."
People shouldn't expect Adam to establish provenance as if he were POW. He is an artist and should be channeling his energies to creating the art we enjoy. If you are considering buying a street piece scour his detailed website - but don't bother the man - because he never created the pieces to be bought and sold in the first place.

I agree with Sausage regarding not being able to supply demand, but I also think its nice that seeing as the demand is there he's not just chucking out rubbish and is obviously taking his time over how he goes forwards as an artist.

I disagree. If AN wants to leave his art around for people to pick up, then that is fantastic. However, if those that find it wish to make capital gain out of it, rather than enjoy the picture, this is nothing to do with Adam. It is quite simply yet another case of greed overcoming a desire to enjoy the art.

I just wanted to point out that it's inevitable that there is going to be huge demand for his street work. This demand will drive prices up and there will always be people prepared to pay the money. There always seems to be talk of greed on this forum but if you found a Neate street piece and was offered a small fortune for it there is going to be temptation to part with it. I wouldn't necessarily call that greed as such.
