In terms of 'worth' it's hard to put some kind of metric on that. It's a primary market, signed work by a blue chip, internationally renowned artist in a large format, low volume (ed of 50) from a world class print house. For collectors who love her work and feel Emin is currently undervalued (I'll nail my colours to the mast here - I do on both scores) and representative as it is of her recent brush with death, for me it represents an opportunity not to be missed. The works in the flesh are extremely dramatic and anyone going for one will, in my opinion, not be disappointed. Cheers and good luck to all going for one. HB So you think a signed print at 10K retail is "undervalued"? ย Wow! ย I know she is a blue chip artist but so is Damien Hirst. ย The last large print with an edition size of 50 by Damien Hirst sold at retail for around 6 or 7K, I seem to remember. ย I don't object to Tracey Emin's rather self-indulgent prints but I do think they are well overpriced. ย

Hard to say. The last self-portraits sold out quite quickly but were ยฃ3500 at launch excluding discount. ยฃ7.5k plus is a prohibitive amount of money for lots of people so I guess these inevitably will take longer to sell through.

At the risk of being slightly pedantic. I think we are getting two different descriptors mixed up. โSold outโ would indicate they sold well and are no longer available. โSelling wellโ would indicate they are selling well. If the only indicator of something โselling wellโ is that it is sold out then these are not selling well. If โselling wellโ can be taken to involve selling 25 full sets of 10 prints each (this alone worth over ยฃ1.5 million exclusive of any taxes) plus the remaining release exceeding all targets after only three of the ten have been offered for sale then I think it can be reasonably described as โselling wellโ.

With 7 more cheaper prints to sell, would you really expect these to sell out straight away?
Thatโs not the way tiered pricing generally works.
A lot of Counter Editions prints donโt sellout, if you look through previous releases.
