No rule book just the dictionary. Mint condition is a phrase over used and has become to common for sellers to say it's mint when if it has been framed, by that very nature, cannot be called mint.
I may be wrong, I have been many times, but when I have bought art from respected galleries and dealers this term is used only when the work is 'as new'

To me its like car sale descriptions. Mint is un used, undamaged in anyway and in effect 'as new'.
not, oh yeah it has this little wheel scuff, and a mark on the bolster, but its mint otherwise.
I have some framed stuff that if i took out of the frame and put in a portfolio no one would know they have been framed, no UV damage, no tape, no creases, no nothing. So they would be as mint as someone that bought a print, flattened it, and put it in a portfolio
I have others that have been framed with parcel tape
I think mint is a non term, it maybe mint to the owner but it depends on the standard the owners sees things as
as new is better term for me
'Artists condition' is a fun term, especially when it comes to dudes like Bast

For the red girl with balloon edition, the signed 150, are they numbered as out of 150 or 600 (which is the full size of the signed and unsigned edition)?
I would have thought they were numbered out of 150 and the unsigned 450, numbered out of 450. But I have seen one signed print that is numbered out of 600.

They are numbered out of 150. The one at a London gallery that is numbered out of 600 was mistakenly signed and numbered that way but the COA reflects that.
