Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by ptron on Jan 12, 2007 13:19:29 GMT 1, Beejoir 1) I see women with LV bags every day. I never really noticed them before, but now I'm tempted to start harassing them.
2) Instead of more LV prints, how more canvas versions? 35 is way to little for your fans.
Or better yet, can I comission a canvas from you. I'm sure others would like to also.

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by lesroy on Jan 13, 2007 11:02:54 GMT 1, ptron...
You'd be suprised who has the LV Child print on their walls whilst their missus has a Louis Vuitton bag on her shoulder... I know of two atleast.
You have to understand that a great deal of any street artists prints, incl Banksy / Beejoir, will be on the walls of million pound Docklands appartments.... and lets be honest... who do you think will by all of the cnavasses at Sotherbys? It won't be a normal, streetwise, grafitti loving, hoodie wearing youth, let me tell you.
So, with regards to your message, about harassing people with LV/Gucci/Prada/etc.. don't be pathetic. Beejoir is getting a message over to general society about poverty and how we all waste money whilst those around us have so little. He's not enciting a harrasment campaign over anyone with money or possesions.
This is not a dig at you mate, it's just a "heads up" to think before getting carried away.
PS... if you are gonna harrass someone with labels.... Victoria Beckham should be down your way sometime soon... try it on with her and let us know how you get on

You have no idea how much I would love to "try it on with her"... she was my favorite Spice Girl
(Probably an embarrassing revelation that did not need to be posted, but I'm drunk right now... I'll regret it tomorrow ;D)

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by beejoir1 on Jan 13, 2007 16:56:13 GMT 1, Its interesting, yes alot of people who have bought the LV have a good bit of $$$ and it will be seen in turn by people with a good bit of $$$ it might make them donate a tiny bit of wealth to charity out of guilt, even if this just happens once or twice it will make me happy, and help someone!
Jon's been in my ear all day about printing an unsigned verion, in a different colour, and I've been on at him about a new charity idea...... we both have headaches!

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by RBK on Jan 13, 2007 17:52:36 GMT 1, I vote for keep moving forward with new works - I'm know I'm biased - but that is part of game when you are an 'early adopter' Plus it keeps the people that supported the artist from the beginning happy.
I worry that half of the people buying stuff promoted via both forums are not in it for the art, as so much as the business/resale. Type eelus in ebay.co.uk for a nice example of this

Fully agree robert, the current list of 50 people wanting to buy a falsified Banksy tribute / pastiche / lets comission an artist to do us a print, does it for me, folk willing to spend and commit to a print they have niether seen or know if they like..... sad and slightly worrying.

I'm probably preaching to the converted, but I agree that if it changes just one person (even if it just turns their stomach) I reckon that is a step forward.

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by mido on Jan 14, 2007 0:51:50 GMT 1, some of us have CLEARLY said our participation depends on whether we like the finished image. some of us are also contributing ideas, so it's exercising our creativity as well
One has already been discussed a lot and we decided we'd like to see something from El Chivo or Arofish. anyone who knows anything about these artists knows 1) how great their work is, and 2) how they haven't got anything in the public domain so far. so we could actually be advancing some great images to the world.
The other is in aid of charity as well - you old grump!
bah humbug ;D

She calls me during the workday and asks "How the forums are?" So I guess by extension she cares about some of you. I show here the really funny/interesting posts so she can at least see what I'm obsessed with!
Foundation - I kinda see where you are coming from but it is all in good fun. 1. Who knows if it will actually happen? 2. All the profits are going to charity (giving back is quite important to me) 3. You don't have to buy it if you don't like it - and if it is bootleg trust me, I'll pass 4. Will be interesting to see what people with similar art tastes come up with

I know it's impossible to tell tone, but I said tempted, and usually can control my tourette's, so the women of old town pasadena are safe from me. I just had no idea those bags were so damn expensive! It's madness!
As for trying it out on Posh, since the odds are super low, I promise if I ever see here in person I will. Now since I'm really slow witted I better prepare something to say in advance, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
@beejoir - The other take on LV Child I like is african baby as ultimate fashion accessory. As for wanting to more forward, I'm sure we all can respect that, but please consider bigger runs for the new stuff.

Robert the first attempt to comission a print was outstandingly chaotic, with 50 people wanting to buy a non exitant print from an unasked artist you cannot say that was about charity or the art, thats about buying a print for the sake of it. The next attempt, may be for charity as stated, which is good, but as no one can decide on an image, no real central point of organisation and most people starting to say that they will have to like the print before they will comit to buying, perhaps you can see my scepticism as being a bit more than bah-humbug as someone noted yesterday. It is a great idea, but someone has to take control and guide the process. IMO

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by mido on Jan 15, 2007 15:53:56 GMT 1, why are you so insistant on trying to re-write history to fit your argument?
the first one VERY swiftly came to a concensus that El Chivo and Arofish are two street artists that do major scale, excellent work (they are basically the only two, apart from banksy & to some degree faile, doing large scale, detailed stencils on the streets of London) and have never appeared in print form. Indeed both are relatively not 'out there' in terms of websites, info, forums etc. Lots of people were therefore very interested in seeing if they would be interested in doing a print based on one of the the images we have seen on the streets.
I have seen a lot of their work in front of my face, and they piss on the work of many other street artists & graphic artists who have got a lot of publicity and fortune out of their limited talent.

I really was not aware about the charity aspect of this print and something about it not been sold in the future. I don't recall any correspondence from Beejoir about this but if someone tells me what charity the sale of the prints benefited I will happily send a percentage of the profit to them. As Beejoir said, there should be no problems selling prints to make money for other prints or when you have no room for it on your walls. Peace.
