Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by craigf on Aug 2, 2007 16:03:30 GMT 1, I do tend to agree with Insite's point (just don't let her know that or that I am scheming to nick her print!)
I assumed that the flipper remark was at least jointly aimed at me and Phoeton, but I'm happy for Phoeton to take it on the chin
Bu**er, just thought all this merriment means I haven't checked POW for over 10 mins

I would love to be able to keep it but i need to sell some prints to pay for bills etc... all i'm saying is that i'm going to offload this print long before i offload any of my banksy's and D's!!! also i have not got the cash for a trolleys purchase, if it happens soon! another reason why i need some funds.

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by fecam on Aug 2, 2007 18:52:03 GMT 1, Sorry but am I the only one struggling with the idea of someone standing in a queue for 4.5 hrs to buy a print that they don't like? There were loads of people stood in that queue for 4.5 hrs who didn't manage to get the print who actually liked it! Wasn't exactly a secret what the print looked like! Could have made a decision not to buy it over a week before you wasted 4.5hrs of your life, plus with the benefit of hindsight you would have been Β£125.00 Better off!!!
You're not alone - another example of someone who is trying to use this forum to flip prints to avoid ebay fees. Same tired lines of "relunctant sale", "would love to keep it" etc.
These posts always then attempt to justify themselves by making it sound like they are doing you a favour - "wanting the print to go to a good home" before they use ebay as a "last resort".

1) How much do you make a month flipping? 2) Are their any pieces you seriously regretted selling? 3) Do you ever feel guilty? 4) What do you do as a day job?

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by Greg on Aug 2, 2007 19:13:02 GMT 1, Quite happy to stick it on the bay! But to be honest its not so much the fees, its the fact that i'd have to use those fuckwits at paypal who have screwed me over in the past!...
and it is a reluctant sale, wish i could afford to keep and frame all my prints but my spending habits have caught up on me and the credit cards are biting back. this is the first print i have/may sold.

Im sure you know this and your genuine anyway mate but no worries, you can only justify yourself so many times

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by curiousgeorge on Aug 2, 2007 19:16:55 GMT 1, I can't for the life of me understand people saying the need to sell such and such to pay bills.
Do people really buy art with mortgage/council tax/gas/electric/water monies? I think those that do should visit moneysavingexpert.com!
IMO buying art should be treated like gambling and only use money you can afford to lose. Not saying nobody can sell far from it, but at least have the stones to admit you can't turn a monster profit down. In my mind at least blatant flippers have enough balls to say they are in it for the money, Sorry for the rant but i'm so tired of people hiding behind poor reasons to sell.
If you really do have bills to pay, did you not know those bills were looming when buying a print?? Do people really not have funds put aside for bills anymore?
Feel free to neg away!, i pray my Rhodesian Ridgeback stays healthly else i will have to sell my small collection Ohhh wait that's what i pay Pet Insurance for.
Not my intention to offend anyone but some people need to grow some balls. ;D
Edit to add well done Fecam ;D

You could have got one personalised by beejoir for 1.4 but its up for auction again

I don't hold it against you. I can't ideologically defend hanging art dealers when i have no truck with other shop keepers. The problem stems with the gallery's creating the temptation in first place and letting people buy multiples if you ask me. Just be upfront about it like you are and don't over spam the forum and you'll get no grief from my end.
EDIT: Unless i don't get a Banksy this time around at which case I'll be grumpily be bighting any hand that moves. ;D
