The Krah 🇬🇧 Graffiti Artist • Art For Sale & Wanted, by thekrah on Dec 4, 2014 16:58:21 GMT 1, New Print edition: The Minotaur, 2014 Giclée print by The Krah
Giclée print from original painting, Giclee Art Print on Somerset Enhanced Velvet 255gsm From a limited edition of 100 Size: 66 × 86 (unframed) This artwork is sold unframed Signed and numbered on the front
on sale from: www.thekrah.yokaboo.com/all/ The Original painting is on sale from The Saatchi gallery: www.saatchiart.com/account/artworks/344334 Artist's description: Through this series of paintings we can see the strong relationship with the artist and history, his visual references to historical periods demonstrate how his Greek upbringing captured his imagination. Encyclopedias, illustrated children books, documentary, museum visits and hours of researching images have inspired him to create such conceptual imagery. It seems that the violent nature of humanity and a corrupt society full of civil disobedience is the main focus. The English artist William Hogarth's depiction of London Streets in Georgian times, streets frequented by alcoholics, opium junkies, prostitutes, the infamous Gin riots, homeless buskers, greedy politicians, compulsive gamblers and the pompous elite classes formed the inspiration for this illustrative painting. Hogarth's paintings disgusted the aristocracy, instead paintings portraying the elite view of a utopian romantic society were desired, much in contrast with the realty of the times they were living in. With this mind set The Krah symbolizes modern society as a city prison labyrinth. In the maze hundreds of characters illustrate today's society. Characters from different ages are depicted in a violent world whose savage figures symbolize the constant struggle among the the classes of contemporary society. A world governed by fear, fear of the state. In Ancient Greece the Minotaur was the symbol of that fear, a mutant guardian of the Labyrinth: the big brother watching your every move. Examining in detail we see the fight for survival, humanity in its instinctive nature, an animal wild full of brutality, sexual crimes, disobedience and disorder in a heavily controlled society. After centuries of trying to control the masses from the ancient times till now, the system of control is no longer working. Visual references to Hieronymus Bosch are evident as this is a contemporary version of Bosh's hell. Each time you look at this painting you see something new, stories layered in stories. Everyone is looking for Wally. For more info visit my website: www.thekrah.com

The Krah 🇬🇧 Graffiti Artist • Art For Sale & Wanted, by thekrah on Mar 14, 2015 20:46:56 GMT 1, In the heart of Bristol's most bohemian district, I am showing lots of my new surreal paintings in the Arts house in Stokes Croft.
'In my recent paintings I create pop-surreal images, my new paintings are a series of paintings focusing on revising ancient myths, giving them a contemporary twist in a surreal and Neo-mythological way. Inspired by old masters such as Hieronymus Bosch and William Holgarth. Throughout art history from the ancient time till now, Art keeps reflecting humanity and some reoccurring themes such as religion, violence, sex and death are the most popular imagery in art history. I focus on subjects like them and many more creating complex illustrations that hide lots of different story's in each image.
I am interested in the weird and the bizarre creating a visual freak show to entertain the viewer, hypnotising them as they become the explorers of my subconscious imaginarium.'
For international subscribers and those who can’t make it to the show, please email hello@thekrah.com and request a catalogue

The Krah 🇬🇧 Graffiti Artist • Art For Sale & Wanted, by thekrah on Mar 17, 2015 15:02:33 GMT 1, My work is neo surreal and very illustrative. There is a contrast of the old and the new in my work, as I paint on rusty metal, old wood, mirrors and using old antique frames: combining the vintage and the modern.

The second exhibition for Artcore International’s newest gallery, Crow's Nest Gallery, features contemporary art from a diverse selection of international urban artists, many of whom have developed from writing illegal graffiti and have risen in popularity to exhibit at esteemed art establishments like Victoria & Albert Museum, Moniker Art Fair, Miami Basel Art Fair, Nuart Festival and Cans Festival organised by Banksy.
International artists from Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Greece, Germany, Australia and North America sit amongst a pool of talented British artists. World renowned metal sculpture artists who previously rocked their work at Burning Man Festival and Glastonbury Festival add some Mad-Max fury to the Crow's Nest special winter exhibition. A sprinkling of the most-promising newcomers on the scene, who will be taking stage for the first time, add a cherry to the top of this fiery Christmas Pudding.
Mirror, Mirror is a photography exhibition that sits within Esthisis, it includes work by renowned photographers alongside up and comers. It explores our perception of 'beauty' and has as it's centre piece the sculpture of the disfigured actor Adam Pearson who will be in attendance on the opening night.
The show is curated by pioneering graffiti artist The KRAH and multi media artist and film maker Dan Moss.
The Crow's Nest Gallery is not your average art gallery. It boasts an impressive 1,500 sq meters of gallery space, with the main room’s exposed ceiling beams keeps 10 meters of headroom for your contemplation. The façade of the gallery features larger-than-life graffiti by artists from the gallery’s premier exhibition. The gallery resides in a converted MOT building, lovingly re-purposed by the non-profit UK charity, Artcore International.
Paintings and Sculptures Featuring: Inkie, Dan Kitchener, Matt Small, Schoony, Carrie Reichardt, Nick Reynolds, K-Guy Joseph Loughborough, Mr. Christa, Carne Griffiths, Danny O'Connor, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, The Krah, Dotmasters, Rugman, Dan Lish, Toasters, Matt Crump, Otto Schade, Tee Wat, Dr.D, Karina Akopyan, Alex Wreckage, Cunni Outsider, Mike Turner, Tony D'Amico, Mr. Cenz, Trust Icon, John Munro, Teddy Baden, Andrey Adno, Olivia Skalkos, Liam Hayhow, Alessandro Caligaris, Darkam, Zoe Moss, Luke Moss, Elno, Kiela69, Mr. Switch, Illustre Feccia, ATM, Peter Sulo, Sergii Radkevych, Hydro74, Wild Drawing, Sister Dagger Bliss and Codefc.
