Sorry, but this is a total waste of money. It's akin to an image you'd seen on a birthday card, along with that other useless image of the traffic warden, (which I hope wasn't from the same 'gallery')you can't deny that it's 'art' but it's pretty terrible faction of it . £175 of hard earned dosh for this, and in the current financial climate, what a total joke. How could anyone want this on their wall, not enjoyable to look at in any way, the message is contrived and, bar the current creationist/evolution debate which it doesn't seem to have any relevance to anyway, rather pointless.

This damn image popped into my head this morning for some reason, just can't understand the price-tags for some pieces being released today, you can find a whole array of images better than this in the £50 thread. The world's gone mad.

This is an edition of only 33, on full sheet Arches paper. Such an edition is far more expensive to produce than editions of several hundred on much cheaper papers at a smaller size, with fewer screens and cheaper inks. This needs to be kept in mind when comparing unit prices.

Regardless of price, the image is just bland, dead and empty.

Really, it doesn't? Let's run through the process then:

1) to make a print, first RYCA draws the picture;
2) he scans it;
3) he uses Enroute to make the separations for the screens;
4) each screen is printed in a pre-chosen order.

Aside from personal preferences as to which software is used, you will find that this is how most people prepare work for printing. Some people don't draw the images of course, but take them from photos. A few still do the separations by hand - which is very old-school, less accurate and very time consuming.

Not really. This is how we always sell to dealers and galleries, and it is more a case of offering individuals a similar deal. We often read complaints on this forum about people being unable to get hold of prints on release or when shows open because they have all pre-sold. We therefore thought it would be a nice gesture to offer pre-release deals on the majority of the works we publish.
