We have a cleaning person (perhaps of African decent) rubbing away one of Hirst's most iconic works, clearly not recognizing it as "art" at all -- and thus challenging us to consider the concepts of "what is art" and "who gets to decide" that.
Just one man's stab at the narrative. Curious what others think.
And congrats to anyone who was able to buy what they wanted.

Can delete them from your cart once you set up the login to paypal minutes ahead and the system will still remember your paypal details. Seems that if you do this much earlier (like 10-15 minutes), you have to enter your paypal password again thereby wasting more time for a successful checkout when you buy the actual print. Probably food for thought for the next GP release...

Of all his works, I think this is his most successful in taking digs at an iconic image. It also brings to mind real life incidents where museum cleaners mistook art for trash. And the composition of the image just works. i think it's that dark humor which makes this his best to date. His other works are, at best, average images to be frank.

I had a chat with them last week about this release and he told me about this with the sticker but he did say to remove the stickers first but I thought fuck it I'll keep them for what it's worth but they have just emailed and refunded me. I've got to say there customer service is good.

its insane we know, seconds to sell out not minutes. we emailed all those who bought just stickers offering refunds.
we are working on a new site that has a 5 minute check out (shopify) we could just not build it & test it in time for this release.

also we sold just over 20% of each edition upfront, just under 80% went online...
