Harland Miller..., by Deleted on Oct 11, 2016 2:09:30 GMT 1, Or not, seems to have gone. Yes it seems to of been sold in the last few days. It was pretty small, around the size of A4 paper. I would prefer to save for the next 10yrs and buy that 'Who Wins Cares' painting for ยฃ33k. I was hoping my HM would sneak thru customs as it has happened to me before with expensive art but it seems not this time (Bastards) Shit i hope i can afford the duty as i am unemployed at the moment and out thousands of dollars due to the company i worked for went in to voluntary receivership. I was one of the lucky ones there are guys that will lose tens of thousands. We were all stunned (150ish employees) as the company had only recently been sold to this multinational. Fast forward 12 weeks and it goes bust WTF. Life can throw us some curve balls at times. Anyone in the UK or US got any work? I can travel Thats some shit news Andy on both the job front and the print getting stuck in customs. I have had smaller things slipp through customs without a problem but they alwasy seem to check larger packages and tubes. At least you will have a nice harland to look at soon.

Yep one has to always focus on the positives. I just need to get the HM framed now. Have been doing a bit of my own but there is no way the HM will be a DIY. Actually i should start sending emails out now to get some rough idea on how many body parts i will need to sell. Apparently the sperm banks pay well.

The Me I Never Knew (ยฃ4.4k), Killing Bondage (ยฃ3.9k) On Me Not In Me (ยฃ3.9k) and There's No Business (ยฃ3.9k)
By getting through them, you can take advantage of the Own Art scheme which you can't via Other Criteria. This means you could get an interest-free loan of up to ยฃ2.5k off your purchase... Could be a good plan if you fancy taking the financial sting out of your HM purchase.

To each his own, but buying art on credit is pretty fiscally irresponsible.

I don't know how the employment laws work outside of the us, but in the us where most states are at-will employment, you can be laid off without cause at any moment. And if that happens and you're stuck paying off a piece of paper, that could end up hurting. The way you talk makes me think you don't have to worry about lost income like that, but most people that use schemes like ownart do. Or at least that's been my experience.

Not that I take offense but I'm not quite sure I get what you mean by "the way you talk". Like most on here I would be very concerned with lost income. I am a human being with a family, house, car, etc... live in the US, work in an at-will work state and was laid off for well over a year in the past during the last US recession.
My point is that is would be irresponsible to pay cash for any large purchase, (especially if you have it on hand), if / when you are being offered a payment plan at zero interest.
You wouldn't pay cash for your car if you could have a zero or 1% interest loan, right? Wouldn't you rather make 3-5% on your money over 10-whatever months than make zero buy handing over a lump sum?
Separately but probably most importantly if losing your job or loss of income is even a remote concern I might advise against buying the artwork altogether!

I haven't seen the bigger ones in the flesh. In photos they look very nice. I am actually waiting for one now as I type. Was suppposed to be here by the end of the day (cleared customs).

Re your last point, anyone who lives in an at will state should know that losing their job is always a concern, even if it's just remote. But we love art, right? So we do what we do ha. I was just advocating responsible spending

Harland Miller..., by andyroo0312 on Oct 22, 2016 1:34:02 GMT 1, If you're still looking, Hangup still have the following at cost (the same as Other Criteria): The Me I Never Knew (ยฃ4.4k), Killing Bondage (ยฃ3.9k) On Me Not In Me (ยฃ3.9k) and There's No Business (ยฃ3.9k) By getting through them, you can take advantage of the Own Art scheme which you can't via Other Criteria. This means you could get an interest-free loan of up to ยฃ2.5k off your purchase... Could be a good plan if you fancy taking the financial sting out of your HM purchase. If you live within the EU the above are a option but if you live outside of the EU you will not get the full 20% vat taken off as they are not the source of the prints and are counted as secondary market sellers. I think it is called profit margin vat or something like that. link

Harland Miller..., by Viking Surfer on Oct 22, 2016 3:43:25 GMT 1, Bastards is a classic and a top 3 Harland IMO.
#1 This is where its fuck'i'ng at #2 Don't let the bast'a'rds cheer you up #3 Love Saves The Day?
Death what's in it for me? A close 4th or even 3rd.
That's factoring in wall friendly / popularity / cost-profit etc.
Of course there are a hundred others I like.....The Me I never knew, Pipe Down C*nt, Too Cool to Lose, F'u'ck Art Lets Dance, Incurable Romantic (grey ed. prob one of my all time favourites) etc.

Harland Miller..., by pklong17 on Feb 7, 2017 20:28:57 GMT 1, Ingleby Gallery have some large ( 138x110 cm ) 22 colour screenprints for sale for ยฃ4200 inc VAT. These look great in the flesh, the 22 layers adding real depth to the print. Overcoming Optimismhttp://www.inglebygallery.com/edition/overcoming-optimism/ This is now up to 4800+ VAT, but seems to be the most bang for your buck among available Harland Miller prints

It's ยฃ4800 INCLUDES vat! And Ingleby have been known to give a 10% discount so down to ยฃ4320 already. Better than ยฃ5760.
