Conor Harrington - Hide and Seek, by nex on Nov 18, 2016 23:07:53 GMT 1, Whilst I can't critique because I get involved in Occassion, I fi d the Banksy pricing discussions truly poisonous, facts are now relative few and far between with prices seemingly rising by 1000s from the last verified sale for no good reason. And no one says a word. It feels like a massive Ponzi scheme ...
oh and whilst Conor is a great artist, nothing would suggest his print prices willl suddenly explode, these two prints are limited and have done well, my 10+ years in this game tell me there not going higher any time soon.

And I agree with a lot of that.
But re Harrington, who cares if they go up or down in value? It's just been released so you would hope they were bought for the love of the image, not in the hope of capital appreciation!

Conor Harrington - Hide and Seek, by Dive Jedi on Nov 19, 2016 2:08:36 GMT 1, Pages and pages of chat about money! Self congratulatory and gloating posts about how much they are worth now compared to when they were purchased. It's all about the money these days f**kthe art. It certainly feels that way sometimes. There's still some of us posting just about the art. This could sound wrong in text, so please believe me that it's meant in a friendly way, but it would be great if you (and a few others - dread, 11 etc) started posting street art again. For those of us not living in a city it was a breath of fresh air. And please don't think it wasn't appreciated. It certainly was by me. Drown out the questions like "I bought this last week, what's it worth now?" with pictures of tags, Graf and street art - please! Got some walls from downtown Las Vegas for you next week if you like

Yes please! But please don't limit it to legal walls. Let's see tags, throw ups, even stickers. It's all better than price checks!!

The fact is it takes quite a while to upload pictures to the site and it seems that only about four or five people actually ever looked at them, and with Instagram now it seems that posting them is rather defunct.

I think s lot of flippers missed the GYG print and they went to fans. Flippers bagged the HAS print so there's a glut for sale.

Wonder what price these will settle at, would really like one but not at those prices. I think s lot of flippers missed the GYG print and they went to fans. Flippers bagged the HAS print so there's a glut for sale. Eh, it was pretty easy to see coming. Both of the prior two CH prints were sold for around $400, and neither went up significantly in value. So when GYG was announced at a relatively high price point, there wasn't any real reason for flippers to stock up. As soon as GYG started going for high prices (since people bought it to keep for the most part, so there weren't many available on the secondary market) it was inevitable that the next release would get bought in high volumes by flippers, which would of course cause this glut in stock we see now. A few flippers sold at high prices, but mostly there isn't the demand at the high prices being asked. It happens on almost every "follow-up" release to a print that did well on the secondary market (see MBW's follow up to "Going to New York" for reference).

i also believe in "everything has a price" ... even for "collectors". there are prints that i absolutely love but if given the right offer, i would sell. i only own a few pieces of art that don't have a price tag.
and based on the established market price of hide and seek... it's not surprising that the listings on ebay are not flying off the shelves. the higher price point typically have longer selling windows. it's not as if the average person is tossing around that amount of cash on a whim.

There are quite a few on ebay and to me the prices are somewhat high based on the fact they aren't selling. But how does one determine the fair market price? Besides the obvious of what people are willing to pay.

Due to a rather expensive month of April and the acquisition of few new pieces I would like to let this go to a good home.
It was bought on the secondary market here in forum from a lucky member who managed to get it on the drop.
It is framed with non reflective art glass by MFM. The print is floating on a very dark grey board.
Located in East London. Looking for offers above 2,000 GBP for now.
Thank you.
