Up first is my SEEN canvas- measuring 3ft x 2ft (24"x 36"). This was done as a commission (amongst other pieces!) for me in person while I watched it being sprayed, at seen studios in the bronx, 5 years ago last month (not quite sure why this photo has come out with a slight fish-eye effect- the canvas is perfectly straight!)


Sprayed on the sides also, so no need for framing

This is an increasingly rare chance to pick up a SEEN bubble canvas- as far as I am aware,he doesn't do these anymore.

No cracking, fading, or damage- and its not been in sunlight either.
Signed & Dated in pencil on the reverse, and comes with a seen studios COA which is marker pen tagged by the man himself.

Next up is my set of SEEN subway train prints.
These were issued in 2009 as two editions of two prints taken from his personal photo archive, and both runs were of just 50. These 4 all have matching numbers.

The second set was I believe never made publicly available, as it was offered directly to good customers, and due to the sought after nature of the image (the Hicki/Ski retirement car- aka the flintstones) it sold out very quickly.




As with the canvas above, the set comes with marker pen tagged seen studios COA in my name (one combined COA for both sets)
All four of these measure 40"x 11.25" each.

Will sell the set for £500, which is pretty much cost price. I would prefer to sell as a set, but potential to split if I get multiple people wanting some.




Finally (for now), a very special Subway Art 25th Anniversary edition

This was a special edition of 100, and is signed & numbered by Henry Chalfant & Martha Cooper.

However, what makes this edition special is that it also includes a signed & numbered photo by both Henry & Martha - these are proper photos on proper kodak photographic paper, not screenprints. Both photos are signed and numbered to match the book, and come in a black paper sleeve which also has a matching number.


The book measures 40cm x 43cm, and each photo is 9" x 12"

Richard "Richie" Mirando, known as Seen UA, born 1961 in The Bronx, New York, is one of the most well known Graffiti artists in the world, often referred to as the Godfather of Graffiti, although he did not pioneer the movement. Seen first started to paint on New York's Subway in 1973. His crew United Artists (or simply UA) quickly gained the reputation for producing full-color throw-ups on whole cars. For the next 16 years his pieces were running across the city and on all lines, but they were especially prominent on the 2,5 and 6 lines. He was responsible for dozens of whole-car top-to-bottoms, many of which have become iconic images of the time

It was during the very early 1980s that Seen started producing work on canvas, shown by galleries and bought by museums and private collectors across the globe. These included not only solo exhibitions but also group shows with artists such as Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat , Dondi, Quik, Blade], andLee Quinonnes. Despite the high demand for his work in Europe and constant world travel, Seen continued to hit the New York subway trains until 1989, long after increased pressure from the MTA had stopped many from doing so. He was also featured prominently in the 1983 PBS documentary Style Wars

In the late 1980s Seen also turned his talent to Tattoo art, opening Tattoo SEEN, which quickly became one of the most successful studios in New York. Seen's recent work includes three-dimensional sculpture, mixed media work with reclaimed or discarded materials (often found in the street), and a series of hand-painted, limited-edition MTA New York subway maps. He continues to exhibit worldwide and produce work with and alongside artists such as Banksy. In 2009, the SEEN Gallery opens in Paris before becoming the SEEN Studio's, France. He also has been exhibited at the Fondation Cartier. In 2010, he has shown at the Magda Danysz Gallery with a solo show on the three floors of the gallery. In 2011, he signed on with Opera Gallery (12 locations worldwide), and the Paris location featured his work.
