Eine "LOVE" Lenticular at ArtRepublic, by Dr Plip on Nov 1, 2016 18:47:50 GMT 1, Oh Gosh no, printing lenticular must be very expensive in itself. How ,much do you think it would cost to print even one? Well my local Poundland and Post Office are selling dinner mat sized ones, but they probably have more buying power than EINE.

Eine "LOVE" Lenticular at ArtRepublic, by Howard Johnson on Nov 1, 2016 21:44:42 GMT 1, I've owned one Eine in the past. Didn't care for the composition or the text. The thing that kept that f*cker in my flat file for years was the printing. The piece was simply impeccable. I've rarely seen execution of that caliber, and I think its a talent many overlook with this artist.
While this image looks nice, the 80s lunchbox printing method kinda ruins it for me. You have an amazing artist and printer, who printed Banksy for christ sakes, working with a cash grab operation on a multiple that doesn't have any of the classic hallmarks of his printing that makes his work so gorgeous in the flesh. What am I missing here?*
*The virtues of progress and experimentation, blah, blah, blah.

That and food.

Eine "LOVE" Lenticular at ArtRepublic, by kwatis on Nov 1, 2016 23:19:46 GMT 1, I don't think you print deckled edges with full bleeds (good question for graffiti prints) Well no, because the deckled edge is lower / thinner than the rest of the paper, so when the paint is pulled across the screen the deckle edge does not make contact with the screen and remains unpainted. I think GP was saying something about how they like the visual effect of this on another thread recently. Deckled edges are usually done after printing. The image area is larger than then final print size, allowing for everything to print outside of the final size. If you print on a deckled edge to achieve a full bleed, you'd have to print outside of the deckle which means a whole lot of ink on the surface that your paper is on. This means a huge mess of ink that would transfer on backs of every new print out down, on the underside of the screen transferring onto the fronts of prints and then this mess transitions onto the drying rack, etc.

Eine "LOVE" Lenticular at ArtRepublic, by Mister Frame Man on Nov 2, 2016 7:23:52 GMT 1, The image looks like it is sitting very close to the edge. If you did buy this and wanted to frame it surely you would want the edge to sit in the frame - lenticulars are usually on quite thick material and wouldn't look good floated. Very good point Sir, will need to be window mounted and matching the black will be tricky, or straight to edge in which case the frame will be close to the image!

Most of the Pejac Linea pieces I've seen have been floated, including the exhibition piece - they looked fantastic...and yes it's very thick!

Eine "LOVE" Lenticular at ArtRepublic, by avec art on Nov 2, 2016 19:21:07 GMT 1, Deckled edges are a result of molded paper kwatis , you can't mold the paper AFTER you've printed on it. What I think you might be talking about are hand torn edges, a lot of people mistake these fake deckled edges to be the real thing, they're not.

What I think you might be talking about are hand torn edges, a lot of people mistake these fake deckled edges to be the real thing, they're not. Yes, that is correct avec art. I was speaking about the faux deckled, torn edge. Although it is not a natural/true deckle edge, most contemporary prints touting a deckle are in fact the later not the former. Bansky's LA show prints are one of the few examples of prints having true deckles, due to them being non-bleed, bordered edges. In the case of Pose prints and various others, these prints are full bleed and the only way that it could be achieved is in post production.

Eine "LOVE" Lenticular at ArtRepublic, by avec art on Nov 3, 2016 12:05:38 GMT 1, Of course with faux deckled hand, torn edges, the tearing is done after it the paper is printed. I don't think anyone is arguing about that. But what GP had been talking about is printing a genuine deckled sheet of paper, where the printing area goes beyond the edges, and the REAL deckle doesn't receive the ink creating a natural boarder (I think). Yes it makes a bloody mess, but when it comes to screen printing sometimes the rough and ready prints are the best, such as early Faile. Anyway, it's not something I do much for reasons you pointed out. Also I print on genuine deckled edge paper most of the time, just that I eventually cut the deckles away kwatis.
