Banksy Toxic Mary, Virgin Mary Print, by Bram on Apr 19, 2008 23:01:11 GMT 1, I thought it was more a take on the Leonardo Mother and Child and Virgin Mary type (100 and 1 versions during this period) with Beejoir's typical questioning of the subject. Classic and very very underated (so far). The printing process is another plus point. Imagine this back lit. Wow!!!

Please turn off caps-lock, it's just obnoxious. I guess you and Beejoir are pretty similar, if you're statement was correct!

WHY THE ANIMOSITY? ITS ONLY MY OPINION. ALTHOUGH I SEE IT AS FACT! RED IS RED, 1+1=2, BAD=BAD. THIS IS REALLY REALLY BAD IF ITS NOT DONE AS A JOKE! BTW I'VE BEEN BUSY BUT I WANTED TO SEE WHAT Y'ALL WERE SAYING ABOUT NICK WALKER.

Because of the caps, the constant sniping at artists and people, the lack of positive contribution. We can all be obnoxious at times, but most of us can be positive too...
As for this being 'bad' - what is bad art?Bad art is the opinion of the individual... one man's trash and all that... Personally this work isn't for me, but there are ways of saying it without coming over like you are doing...

Banksy Toxic Mary, Virgin Mary Print, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 20, 2008 3:44:57 GMT 1, Yet again rural, you fail to agknowledge the issue at hand. As with each time I've encountered you in any thread, you present your own opinion as definitive fact. If you were god, my guess is you wouldn't need to be typing in caps for people to listen. Therfore please show some respect forthe opinions of others. if you have no interest, as it constantly appears, in the opinions of others and no wish to learn from others, what the hell are you doing in a forum? You're not as stupid as your posts indicate, of that I'm pretty sure, so please try to be constructive from time to time, instead of being the bully that likes to wander round the playground pi$$ing on everyone else's fire, because of whatever issues you have outside this forum, which probably include not being paid enough attention to. In here everyone or almost everyone will read your comments take you as you want to ba taken and react to you, so forget your sad life on the outside and raise an issue we can debate or consider instead of only ever typing how crap some art is and how stupid anyone who likes or makes it must be. I know you can do it if you choose to. You mentioned "sympathy", although I've never read a kind word from you to any artist on here, please direct me to some such sentiment on the forum.

Banksy Toxic Mary, Virgin Mary Print, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 20, 2008 3:54:17 GMT 1, Personally I like this piece, I think it's execution is original in style and that the blurriness of the image in it's own way is suggestive of untruths involved in religion. It's not the image itself so much I enjoy as the message, which I find similar to that in Turin Scam, a print I'm sad not to own. I read it as questioning the sense in conventional religion in modern society. I read it as questioning the degree of truth underlying the faith shared by countless hundreds of millions around the globe and all other prominent religions to boot. On a broader scale, I also think he's questioning our desire to think for and be true to ourselves, rather than follow blindly because it's often the easier option. I can identify very strongly with this piece, especially living in a very Christian community in brazil. It ties in with my own attitude regarding what I consider to be ignorance driven faith. So there's one person's reasoning behind why this piece was worth the effort involved in it's creation.

Banksy Toxic Mary, Virgin Mary Print, by rurualhick on Apr 20, 2008 8:41:54 GMT 1, PAY 1 GBP FOR ANY PROGRESSIVE LEANING MAGAZINE AND YOU CAN GET PLENTY OF "MESSAGES". UNTRUTHS IN RELIGION? SOOOO ORIGINAL! SO IF YOU WANNA PAY 250 gbp FOR A PLAYED OUT MESSAGE THATS YOUR CHOICE. BAD CHOICE AS I MUCH RATHER PUT MY MONEY ON ART.

But good one on slammer and well done to his happy buyer
Ps. I prefer my mary's toxic!

Very well put.
Some people cannot / don't want to think too hard about the piece they are viewing and that's fine, walk away or offer a decent comment on it. "CRAP" mmmmm very well tought out.
This d*ck has only come on to see what is bing said about NW. Why? I supose he's just another one wanting to jump on the band wagon or wants to wind people up about how "CRAP" he is. Tit
