THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by jantalb on Dec 2, 2016 16:39:43 GMT 1, I personally donยดt see a big problem with it. I have had to pay double for a piece of art a couple of times and donยดt see why I should be on the "loosing" end everytime. I have not yet bought a print solely for the purpose of making a quick buck but I wouldยดnt rule it out completely as I myself donยดt always have the funds to get what I want because of the secondhand market. I just wish people could be somewhat upfront about it, especially instead of the usual sugarcoating, or just not say anything at all and just sell it. I reckon weยดve all heard some lame excuses to justify flipping a print What's wrong with "this just isn't gonna make the wall".... Well, it does seem to beat " I just bought this to make some cash, pay up suckas" doesnt it?

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by Hairbland on Dec 2, 2016 17:06:36 GMT 1, What's wrong with "this just isn't gonna make the wall".... Well, it does seem to beat " I just bought this to make some cash, pay up suckas" doesnt it? Self-righteous posturing about not flipping is absurd, and often those that protest the loudest are probably involved in said activity to some level. But I do think common sense is required, a knowledge and respect of the scene one may be infiltrating.
Trying to flip here in the For Sale section is rather stupid in my opinion, and shows that one might not be very good at their craft - or any craft for that manner, which is why one is flipping to make money (other than the oft-used disclaimer I'm funding new art purchases). Trying to flip in the For Sale section here is like a bird defecating in it's own nest. Not very smart.

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by mak600 on Dec 3, 2016 19:10:56 GMT 1, And they're all over eBay already, really annoying....! about 5 or so listings it appears. 2.5% of the edition isn't really all that much (rather low actually). par for the course with any limited edition release (art or otherwise). if you get annoyed by such things, limited edition art may not be a good hobby for you.
2.5% of an edition that has yet to be delivered to their intended flippers, how many more when they actually get there? Thank you for the patronising reply though...

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by settingson on Dec 21, 2016 23:08:54 GMT 1, Received my print this week and just wondered if anyone else found what look very fine scuff lines on the white of the paper that are actually hard to decide are in the actual paper, from the print process or from the packing but they are definitely there. I have a few running down just to the right of the main body of the print blow her hair, a few on the bottom immediately after the main print and a few around the 'feel it' caption. Hard to photograph but on close inspection are definitely there. If everybody else has pure white paper outside the print then they're definitely not meant to be there but it feels like it's a slightly 'dirty' white paper that has been used.

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by settingson on Dec 21, 2016 23:28:23 GMT 1, Actually, just managed to answer my own question! lol When you go to the website and hover over the pics and it goes high res I can see the same 'grainy markings' that I have including the lines and the little bluish marks near the 'Feel It' caption. Feeling somewhat more at ease with it now!

Hi mate I contacted coa last night after looking at my print. This is there response. Hi , thanks for contacting us. The print is from a hi-res pic of the original work. All marks you see are printed and not ink from handling the print. Please see photo attached of the one we have. All the marks are being part of the original work on canvas. You can also feel the canvas texture. If you are not satisfied with the print you can send it back and we will refund you.

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by honestcrooks on Dec 22, 2016 13:37:30 GMT 1, It's a print of a photograph of a canvas. What do we expect? It's not a digital image made in Photoshop, so it's normal that if you take a picture of a canvas that is dirty or has some paint smudges, that it's translated to the print.
What I think they could've done better though, was printing the "canvastexture" over the entire paper. That makes the difference between image and paper less hard on the eye and more acceptable.
I saw it too yesterday and it didn't bothered me (because of the mentioned reason). But yeah, I feel they are rushing things a bit with their releases and don't think stuff through enough. Get the money while she's hot I guess? :-)

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by Art Fan 2011 on Dec 22, 2016 16:11:57 GMT 1, I wonder how much input she has in the production of the prints and the process? Judging by social media she is out "hobnobbing" whenever possible, and perhaps she just signs and numbers them waiting for the $`s to roll in! Also not sure who she uses for the printing but if that`s the problem there are no shortage of top class printer house`s around these - Maybe she should ditch JP and go elsewhere??

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by settingson on Dec 22, 2016 17:36:56 GMT 1, It may sound odd despite having started this thread but I am actually pleased with the print, the image is fantastic! The replies from COA and digging deeper into the actual print process I really view my opening question more being a case of my own naivety and lack of knowledge/research on the print itself and I don't want it to be read as a criticism of COA which I would consider unjustified. As mentioned above I have just got so used to an actual image being printed onto crisp white paper that it threw me with the canvas markings being present and if I had taken more time to study the hi res images prior to purchase then the question would not have arisen. In fact can I now ask that we make it compulsory to have markings on all prints and then I won't have to be so damn careful handling them!

It wasn't a refund I was after when I first opened it i thoight it was just mine. I know diddly squat about printing and told COA that to. This is my first purchase of Sandra's, and my first giclee print. I like the print but I think in the future I'll think twice between a giclee and screen print.
