Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by kel on Nov 13, 2013 18:42:46 GMT 1, The above print was recently acquired from Lazarides by fraudulent means, the Police have been informed and it is now on the Stolen Art Register. If anyone is offered this print or has had any enquiries or dealings with someone calling himself Anthony Barton, we'd be very grateful if you'd contact the gallery with any information. We'd also like to extend a warning to other galleries to be extremely wary of people attempting to purchase items by telephone using Australian credit cards and/or bank transfers, particularly when asking for the item to be couriered to a UK address rather than the cardholders address. Obviously not all Australian cards are dodgy, but this guy has allegedly been cloning a lot of them! Never nice to hear of these things happening. Though I would like to say and by no means telling you how to run your business. You really should have more stringent checks in place. Would a payment on a credit card registered to a different country than the delivery address not ring alarm bells in the first place. With the value of the products you are selling you should probably be looking at having the card payer confirm the card address by means of a recent Utility bill and also confirming their own identity by form of photo ID.
Also probably ringing the credit card/bank up for payment confirmation and user confirmation may assist in the future. Lets be honest it is not exactly a £100 print so a little bit more stringent check might pay off.
Hope you get it sorted.

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by LAZARIDES on Nov 13, 2013 22:15:49 GMT 1, Thanks to everyone who's contacted us today. We're astonished to have learned of the scale of this guy's activities, of how many prints he's acquired from various galleries and other sellers by fraudulent means (it runs to hundreds of thousands of pounds) and saddened to learn how many stolen prints he's apparently already sold on to unsuspecting buyers.
We only hope the info we've gathered and presented to the Police will be taken seriously and acted upon before he rips off more sellers and buyers, because from what we've heard today, the guy shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
Unfortunately, he's deleted his original sales post, but in case he's still trying to sell to forum members, listed below are the specific edition numbers we've so far discovered he's been hawking under the names Anthony Barton and Matthew Hewitt.
Please feel free to add any further details to the thread that may help unsuspecting buyers.
Bomb Hugger - A/P #3 Happy Choppers #96 Laugh Now #120 Nola #36
He's also known to be selling the following prints but sadly we haven't managed to ascertain specific edition numbers:
Gold Flag NBG Green Chocolate Donut Flower Thrower (awaiting COA!) Laugh now (unsigned) And also... A couple of Hirst prints and a Warhol Mao.

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by mmmike on Nov 13, 2013 22:37:44 GMT 1, We need somewhere on here to track stolen / suspicious prints and damaged prints. That people can refer to before making deals. This isn't the first case of stolen prints and it likely won't be the last. Let's make sure they don't end up selling here.
It sucks being ripped off. Sorry Outsiders, I hope you get your print back. But knowing how it sucks to be ripped off maybe you might want to use this as an opportunity to address your own shady VAT practices with foreign buyers. Just sayin.

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by duckyhoward on Nov 13, 2013 23:51:46 GMT 1, Photos of the actual prints/item being sold should be a mandatory requirement of any for sale thread - particularly expensive prints. It's not too hard. just my 2 cents.
I would have thought that if anyone is selling one, two, three or ten prints that have a value/ worth of what most of Banksy's do that a few photos of the actual items begin sold is not too much to ask. A little effort would be appreciated by most and the photos would go some way to removing some of the doubt that people have about listings such as these.
