Should we accept flipping on this forum , by WOOF on Dec 17, 2016 19:03:34 GMT 1, If you as an owner know that your art is worth more than what you purchased for and you were looking to let it go then of course most people would ask for that higher price but they would also accept offers that would make it a mutual deal to make both parties happy. We recently launched a New Secondary Art Market to open things up for buyers and sellers and giving them both another option to look at. Its free and simple to use for sellers and hopefully helps the buyers find better deals. Does anyone police this forum anymore? Do we still have moderators? lol. Doesnt look like it if this is even being allowed now. This is like the 3rd time I have seen this. One can say Daniel Silk gave up. This board has gone over the deepend long ago and it just gets worse daily. Maybe a restart is whats needed. I'm sure he's happy to sit back and collect his advertising money...

I think that's pretty unfair.
It's a big forum and I'd much prefer we we're self regulated than governed by "guardians". Seems like Daniel Silk is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
Let the place go Wild West I say.

partner says 'no way' dont like the print up close and personal the print was hanged and then needs to make way for an other a good amount of time between the print release and selling.... 2 years as an example.
howver policing this is impossible in my opinion.

From my experience as a guardian, I don't think it's unfair at all, and I think most other guardians would agree.

Should we accept flipping on this forum , by energy on Dec 18, 2016 23:26:24 GMT 1, What we should have is some rules, then if a person breaks those rules a guardian can take action.
If flipping is not against those rules, members should be allowed to get on with their business. Take action, take a vote. Ban flipping or allow flipping, if the results allow flipping then so be it. If the vote says ban it, then it's banned. Self policing doesn't work, all I've seen is a mob of members giving grief. This is bullying!
As for terms like parasites, this is a name Hitler called Jews.
Ban or allow, take action. Stop bullying.
We should also vote for the removal of stars, I'm not sure what they add to the forum other than on overinflated sense of importance.

Should we accept flipping on this forum , by Finsbury on Dec 19, 2016 0:33:14 GMT 1, Bored of this. Banning "flipping" (which is subjective remember) would put forum members at a disadvantage. Can we ban threads about banning flipping? I'm curious to know why you feel so strongly about it? I haven't trawled through your posts to find out.
My previous post was how bans work on other communities I'm involved with, when a clear case has been proven. I wasn't suggesting it would work here on UAA merely explaining that flippers should continue to be frowned upon in all markets where demand exceeds supply amongst genuine collectors.

I disagree, this thread has many multiple-syllable words, for the most part complete sentences and most words spelled correctly.

Also, almost everyone in this thread is more qualified to be the president of the us.

Should we accept flipping on this forum , by case on Dec 19, 2016 14:11:59 GMT 1, Stupid question: why don't the guys who really want prints to hang it help each other to score at releases - without any profit, just to help a guy out and get f5ing support when you need it? Takes some buyers of the market for the flippers and some prints of flippers hands.

Happy to discuss it but bottom line the forum members would be at a disadvantage if it wasn't allowed. Flipping is subjective in terms of money, time, item etc
It can be discussed til blue in the thumbs but it's boring, that's all.

It's only logical with the growth of Urban Art into the mainstream (IKEA, Urban Outfitters, Converse, Target - with "Banksys", and more) that the inevitable detritus would come along with it.

That way potential buyers could see the many unsold prints on ebay that flippers tried to flip.
I guess flipping on this forum. No one knows if the print being flipped sold or not.

and some coincidences where others post they are looking for the exact same print.
Is it collectors that buy the flipped stuff or is it investors who want to add the print to their portfolio ?
