Would say the opposite : most Flags I have seen in galleries are utter shite, all have issues on front and/or back, and as has been said most are framed with galleries not giving a fukk about what is inside the frame.
In my experience the best flags are owned by individuals who bought early and framed to high standards immediately.
Same goes for DFaceโs Fools Gold (even harder to find than Flags in good condition, but of course demand is much lower as well)

I'm going to apply for a COA but I know this could take a long time.
Could anyone give me some advice of what it would be worth with and without the COA? I could really do with selling it now, but don't want to be thousands of pounds out of pocket without the COA.
It has never been framed and has no damage, stored flat in a Mylar folder. I'll put some photos up later when I get a chance.

That said, if you want to maximise the return on your investment then, irrespective of sale price achieved, my guess is that you will make at least ยฃ1k (probably more) if you sell it with a COA as opposed to without even with your solid provenance.
You will get more interested parties if you have a COA which is likely to drive the price up; combine that with the probable increase in value that will occur whilst you wait for the COA indicates that you will get more for your ยฃ100 print should you wait for receipt of COA.
