Santa's Ghetto 2006, by mido on Aug 29, 2006 13:59:03 GMT 1, surely if there is a banksy piece on display (if....) then he is part of the exhibition?
will be interesting to see what the exhibition catalogue has i it - says it is published on 1st sept but I always wonder if dates like those might slip a bit....
don't shoot the messenger. just quoting Thugs from eBay. although there may be a Banksy piece (or not) on display, Banksy has nothing to do with the exhibition and according to what was said, they are using his name to promote the event (as you have seen) without his permission.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by RBK on Sept 5, 2006 20:31:20 GMT 1, I would love for it to be in Chicago but that isn't going to happen
I would bet it is going to be New York. LA will be his first exhibition in the States and if he wants to gain a huge amount of exposure - NYC would be the perfect choice for Santa's Ghetto 2006.
You have to remember... aside from the installations at the art museums and the Paris Hilton stunt, his iconic image isn't built up here yet.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by jp on Sept 20, 2006 0:12:11 GMT 1, Hmmm, thinking about that makes me worried. Imagine if you had to book travel to somewhere like papua new guinea to see his new stuff and stand in line for a print? That would be a great follow up to L.A. though and create lots of news I'm sure.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by andrewd on Sept 30, 2006 20:10:56 GMT 1, Some one who should know told me today that it is in NYC. Would make sense given the recent Banksy LA outing. Hope not but then again us Londoners have had it too good for the last few years.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by gm on Oct 5, 2006 17:15:15 GMT 1, I only went to last year's ghetto. Saw the 04 one but never had time or money to go in. Last years had pretty much everything that's available from POW plus a lot of new (to me) stuff (was the first place I saw anything by Polly Morgan, for example). Lots of new stuff made its debut there (e.g. the Hewlett stained glass windows, J&J canvas and prints), stickers, books, coconut shy...
I noticed a lot of the 'leftovers' appeared in Laz gallery when it opened.
Just go if you get the chance. You won't regret it ;D
