Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Graffiti Prints on Nov 8, 2015 0:45:19 GMT 1, Wow 13 different versions of the same print, you have excelled yourselves this time GP Tend to agree Smacks of overkill or grab the cash while you can
121 edition in total + collab's a is hardly a cash grab, lots of choice yes I see that.

Curious as to what your comparing with, this is a hand painted then 9 layer screen print which makes them all unique except the gold.
We have had many prints over 20 colours sold for around 125 pounds
Obviously I look at what other people are releasing and I honestly think we have the best value all round, screen printing is not cheap when you go over 5 or 6 colours etc.
But none of this ever seems to be recognised which I think is a shame.

Personally I think it's a great mix of prints and small editions and like Fake said earlier I also would prefer to have the opportunity to choose from these mixed finishes rather than have a bigger print edition and a couple of specials that are impossible to get hold off and usually at a price point beyond my budget. I really like Snik's work and the prints are always first class so in my opinion this release I think is very well balanced on size and price. My only dilemma is which do I want to go for.
On a wider scale I can only say that I have purchased a lot from Graffiti prints in the past year and they have always arrived promptly, been well packed and the stickers etc are always a nice touch. I have also been disappointed to miss out on drops the same as everyone else but I am realistic to know that small releases of popular artists are always going to need luck of the highest order to get one! Don't know why GP gets a hard time sometimes! I fully understand that each release may not be to everyone's taste but that's life. I'm a big music fan but just because I prefer certain genres to others doesn't mean that those musicians aren't good at what they do and give other people enjoyment. I myself do not always 'get' a lot of the art posted on here and everyone is entitled to their opinion but my personal perception of GP is that regardless of any particular print/artist they have always given me first class prints and a first class service. The merits of cost in relation to the artist and image is then a personal choice.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by natstan on Nov 8, 2015 15:59:36 GMT 1, Not being cynical. While I can understand the appeal of Snik's works to some, I just felt that, other than the 'standard' hand finished ed, the rest with the 'additional' touches just smells of decoration at best. What does those additional finishes really bring to the content? Nothing - none of those look good with it but that's probably just me.
I notice this happens to GP's print release quite a number of times. Maybe I just didn't like how it appears so commercialised (and I don't see too many publishers or galleries doing that but I might not know better). I'm not targetting GP but it just appears to be the only gallery doing that very frequently unfortunately. No offence really.
I understand efforts and labour ought to be compensated fairly, but if one had saved the effort on just a smaller number of quality edition, without all those unnecessary frillies, who's complaining, really? They still get their money - but maybe lesser.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by snik on Nov 8, 2015 23:45:59 GMT 1, Not one for stepping into online discussions, half the time they just aimed at being insulting without repurcussions, but in regards to the edition size, choices etc, i feel i can speak here.
The reason for the amount of variants, colours & backgrounds etc, is MY choice. I like the fact that the plain black version has a more intense feeling, but the distressed backgrounds on the variants gives a softer feeling, but with a nice aesthetic. There isnt an agenda here to create a ton of cash, we (snik) just want to produce really nice prints at the highest quality, and an affordable price (in our opinion).
The reason that maybe you see GP do alot of variants etc, is because he gives the artists total control. There has never ever been a time GP has told me to produce more prints than i want, or colour variants, its totally up the artists. This approach is the main reason we enjoy to work with, and release, with GP.
As an artists in this game, there is alot of pressures from galleries and publishers etc to release, its a very complex process, especially for artists who are new to it etc. To be given free reign is a great thing when it comes to producing the print, an artist can go as crazy as they want, which personally is one of the main reasons to be an artist, freedom. I totally understand that people see this differently, and thats fine, its their opinion.
Thanks for all the kind words about the print.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by alexdb on Nov 9, 2015 12:34:42 GMT 1, I got the canvas of this work. Its a beauty. I do not have the colourfull background but yet dark colour. I like it that way as for me the image itself comes out perfect. But as Snik said, it is a matter of taste by myself.
If the artist can go as crazy as he/she wants, of course; go for it! I probably would do the same.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Wilson on Nov 12, 2015 16:33:08 GMT 1, Anyone sussed the check out process at GP these days? In the past if you managed to basket it you had 10 minutes to get out of Dodge. These days it seems to allow everyone to get it in their basket and it's the first over the line. I got the MW edition in my basket, got all the way to Paypal, looked on another tab and it said sold out. Wha goin?

Good luck on everyone who managed to grab one.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Wilson on Nov 13, 2015 7:00:26 GMT 1, Hey Graffiti Prints, been thinking abut your new check out and reckon it's a bit unfair. If your address is long etc it takes longer to enter and your never going to get something. Why was cart holding such a problem? They were always finally released and at least bots didn't get them. I read a few times on here that forum members eventually bagged something good. Why not introduce a five minute check out or less.
What was a difficult task now seems impossible. I used to be able to get stuff but now can't.
Be interested to hear your comments.

We had people carting huge quantities and sitting on them for 10 mins and then bagging as much as they can again when it's drops out, which means no one can cart!
If anyone knows how to limit Cart in big cartel to one piece and still check out with PayPal I'm interested to know and we would change back
Currently it's the best of two evils to make it fastest finger first

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Wilson on Nov 13, 2015 9:45:14 GMT 1, Thanks for the response. IMO the other way round is best. I managed to get stuff previously but the last three I've tried, nothing. Trying like mad to get in your details to find out its sold and then missing out on your second choice isn't nice. Like you say limiting to one item is ideal. Come on tech heads out there, help!!!

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Wilson on Nov 13, 2015 10:18:35 GMT 1, The whole cart hoarding thing, while inane, didn't bother me too much. I always carried on F5ing until it said sold. Any particular reason why it upset you GP? Those who really wanted to buy would end up buying and GP always sells out. I actually feel like not bothering next time. All constructive stuff GP, hope you don't mind the comments.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by markent on Nov 13, 2015 10:19:04 GMT 1, I have read other companies T&C that if you order more than 1 item etc the order will be cancelled, seems like a good way of restricting the numbers.

Don't think that's the issue Markent. People just put things in their basket and hold them without going through the actual checkout process. Eventually they are released back onto the site and are bought.
