I would suggest that is more accidental than intentional. The repose of Mask II is, as with all of Mueck's work, true to the subject/model rather than any specific artistic interpretation. Essentially, both artists caught someone with strong features sleeping and presented them accurately. Sam Taylor-Wood, it could be argued, did something similar with 'David'.
I love the way that pieces can Chinese whisper through each other.

Don't get me wrong, I quite like SNIK's stencil work, they're obviously talented and earned their chops, but it's a shame they don't colour outside the lines a little.
