With regard to people's attraction to the work I can only speak for myself but the combination of the book design and wit in the titles speak to me and really resonate.
If you've never had any experience of the books I can see how it would make the work more difficult to appreciate. You're potentially missing the most important piece of the puzzle. Without the nostalgia for the subject matter, the work may seem baseless and without foundation.

For any who are interested I've collected for 11 years for the last one and a half years I've been helping people buy art they love. The Ig page contains 75 percent work from my collection most of which isn't for sale, the rest is work I'm looking to buy for myself/clients or work I find inspirational.
As Dappy and others will confirm I make no secret of what I'm lucky enough to do for a job. Combining my passion with my job has been the best move I've ever made.

I've seen the Russian show and it's worth it. If we fancy a 'group' trip again there's the American show 'After the Fall' coming soon. Looks great.
