Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Charlie Bronson on May 12, 2021 18:59:07 GMT 1, Imagine if B opened it up while this shit is happening; stay at your own risk. A picture is worth a thousand words, and he’s definitely made a lot of pictures trying to get a message out in regards to this conflict. I’d imagine living in and experiencing the mayhem first hand, would be worth a million.

Probably an amazing experience. To be safe, I'd suggest to check with your mom first though, if she'd care, if she wouldn't know where you are buried.

I have been lucky to have traveled to Palestine a couple of times over the years. I have always felt comfortable and safe within their borders, within the confines of the wall. The people I met and talked to were always friendly, helpful and polite.
The only time i felt at unease was returning back to Israel on route to Ben Gurion. We were pulled over at a check point by armed guards, searched and interrogated before being allowed to travel on.
I always left Palestine with a pang of guilt, knowing how fortunate I was passing with ease through the turnstiles of the wall. I took my freedom for granted and it was a luxury that some of those people I'd just met may never experience.
What is happening now is beyond devastating. I can only hope that this blows over quickly, but i can't see that happening...
This hotel is more than just art, it is a message and it would be lovely to return again. However, this risk is real now. There is no need to put further lives at risk for a message. That message of injustice is currently being beemed across the world on every news channel. We just got to hope and pray that someone in power listens.
My thoughts are with the staff of the hotel and also friends & family of WOH 🙏

And his career would be finished if a traveller was killed in a bombing of the hotel, counted as an irresponsible westerner If the idea is appealing to you, you still can fly out and volunteer with a foreign aid agency, then you can experience the real mayhem, pain and suffering of the population

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by d.r. perseus on May 16, 2021 6:37:44 GMT 1, If the truth be told Biggie, unfortunately a lot of Americans support Israel. Just look at the comments in anything Banksy posts on in his Instagram, regarding Palestine. The USA has given more aid to Israel than any other country since WW2. It currently gives in the region of $3.8 Billion just in military ‘aid’...in other words USA tax dollars is funding the bombs and aircraft carrying out the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and other war crimes such as bombing of refugee camps. In the USA, the discourse around Israel is more of a domestic issue than foreign policy issue. There are multiple groups in the US that strongly support Israel’s behaviour, including Evangelical Christian groups, neo-conservatives, labour unions. Under Trump’s presidency, the pro-Israel dialogue shifted to a more rightwing pro-annexation and anti-palestinian support. Only Biden can broker a de-escalation now.
A lot of US support from Christian groups is based on eschatology. Back 20 years ago Robertson and other evangelicals even had late night “sponsor a Jew to go back to Israel” to facilitate end day prophesy.
“ Aliyah Return Center (ARC) is a Bible-believing, prophecy-fulfilling, non-proselytizing, ministry built on a foundation of love in uncompromising faith.”
“ Our vision is to eradicate anti-semitism by building bridges and encouraging Jews and Christians to work together to fulfill God’s plans for Israel and the Nations, through education, infrastructural development, innovation, and, of course, Aliyah aid, "Building their legacy". ”

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Sebastian Dusseldorf on May 16, 2021 6:38:02 GMT 1, Now that we know where Israel's arms are from, can somebody please mention where those thousands of rockets the Palestinians are firing are from, so we can participate happily in this never ending circle?
I think it speaks for this forum that we don't participate much in these one sided comments I see on social media these days (for either side). Israel is suppressing Palestine and many Palestinians and other Arabs want Israel scratched from the map. These two truths keep on feeding each other and everybody failed on ending this conflict. So if anybody has something productive on this of all topics, go ahead, I'm sitting on the edge of my seat.

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by tab1 on May 16, 2021 22:47:31 GMT 1, Do not agree with racism of any kind to any groups but to deploy a team of officers taken away from tackling more serious events to track cctv footage live in the events and deploy the cost of a helicopter to track the occupants and then deploy a squad of patrol cars to detain a car for anti Semitic statements is a bit heavy handed and a waste taxpayers money. Add the total cost of this deployment, where as they had the registration plate and could of sent a summons to the address?
If this was carried out for every racist statement made in public there would be no officers to tackle more serious crime.

To access the specific date for the crime reports would need a freedom of information request. But being in central london the statistical crimes that occur daily would be car theft ,weapons , burglary, assault, drugs/ dealing, sexual assaults that would be classed a higher priority?

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Zippy on May 16, 2021 23:03:07 GMT 1, Hi Tab.
I feel i have to reply to this. I have seen the footage and want to answer your post. These 4-5 cars were driving through a highly populated Jewish area of North London inciting racial hatred and intimidation.
The language was racist, disgusting and intent on upsetting and stirring up trouble. They were shouting about ‘murdering Jews’ and ‘raping jew women and their daughters’. I have the footage if you do not believe me.
I am saddened to see this and the hatred posted on social media these last few days. But today’s action by these idiots was intent to stir emotion and a reaction. This behaviour is totally inexcusable and was to hurt and push for a reaction. A rabbi was beaten this morning in East London.
It is so important we educate the difference between anti Israel and anti-semetic / racist behaviour.

My comment based on the news article provided that did not detail as much information as you have now provided . You state the importance of education to distinguish the difference between anti Semitic and racist behavior but have not provided any input? Please put forward your views? I class as the same? Is this wrong ?

There was an even bigger demonstration planned in London tonight so hopefully the police action prevented it

This is why progress is not achieved I genuinely have no idea what point you’re making here. Zippy’s comment was spot on and very clear. I think you may have misinterpreted it. Edit: unless I’ve misinterpreted your post of course. In which case I should probably just go to bed.
No point to be made, so cease with attempting to create division. I classed both as the same and merely asked to explain. People talk about making a change etc but when it comes to it and they have a chance to make change no one speaks up? How many people made statements when they visited the walled off hotel about the banksy tours and how much injustice there is but fail now to discuss any recent events ? Yes, have some hot milk and sleep tight

If you don't have that knowledge first hand, then you shouldn't be making claims like that. I was also curious why you chose to point to this specific event as a waste of money and resources, when I'm sure you could probably find much more egregious events over the past 12 months.
No need to be passive aggressive, be direct, what are you trying to convey that I am doing or trying to make a point of ? I can discuss what I want as long as I am not offending Anyone under those banners and there is plenty of daily statically crime information on the internet for you to compare
I read the article and the first time I have heard of a helicopter being summoned and deployed for this type of incident then to factor in all the other resources used then compared to the other higher priority incidents that occur in London daily that do not receive this attention or resources I thought this was excessive for the costs involved or do you agree it is higher priority than a sexual assault , weapons , drugs ?tied in to what is going on in Palestine this type of news reporting without full facts just causes confusion, division and frustration
To access the specific date for the crime reports would need a freedom of information request. But being in central london the statistical crimes that occur daily would be car theft ,weapons , burglary, assault, drugs/ dealing, sexual assaults that would be classed a higher priority? www.ukcrimestats.com/Subdivisions/GLA/2247/Latest stats from march 91000 reported incidents Okay, your statement implied you had first hand knowledge that more serious crimes were taking place and that the police were not able to respond to them. If you don't have that knowledge first hand, then you shouldn't be making claims like that. I was also curious why you chose to point to this specific event as a waste of money and resources, when I'm sure you could probably find much more egregious events over the past 12 months. Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by tab1 on May 17, 2021 0:18:47 GMT 1, No point to be made, so cease with attempting to create division. I classed both as the same and merely asked to explain. People talk about making a change etc but when it comes to it and they have a chance to make change no one speaks up? How many people made statements when they visited the walled off hotel about the banksy tours and how much injustice there is but fail now to discuss any recent events ? Yes, have some hot milk and sleep tight I hadn’t misinterpreted your post then. It’s good that you’re seeking education I guess, but maybe this forum isn’t the best place to start. Very simply, it’s possible to be critical of the actions of the Israeli government without that criticism turning into hatred of all Jewish people. Protesting against the actions of the Israeli government is not racist. Taunting / threatening people simply for being Jewish is racist. Anti-Israeli behaviour is different from Anti-Semitic behaviour. I may be furious with Daniel Silk for rearranging the navigation bar on this forum, but I wouldn’t protest his actions by driving up and down Terryfuckwitt’s street shouting obscenities and threats at him simply because he happens to be a member here. (This comparison regrettably trivialises the genocide that is occurring overseas and should probably not have been written). Good shout on the hot milk.
The government and its policies is the issue here . The demonstrations happening looks mainly as kids attending so not much hope of sensibilities being present. Violence creates hate and cycles of increased violence, I hope the world intervenes this time and upholds any new policies set. This is the problem approaching this subject, with sensitivities high on both sides and the risk of offending either groups. The Jewish community suffered unimaginable treatments from ww2 but to fast forward to the modern era to have their own state, a world leader in innovation and influence globally and understand as a nation mistreatment then create similar mistreatments to a group whilst the world agrees it is unjust yet does not intervene seems unjust? Forgot to mention teaspoon of sugar in the milk🙄

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Sebastian Dusseldorf on May 17, 2021 7:16:45 GMT 1, ...The Jewish community suffered unimaginable treatments from ww2 but...
Don't really know, if you are just not very skilled in writing, uneducated or if you are an anti-semite as it shines through in some of your posts. Russia, France, Dresden, Hiroshima all suffered unimaginable treatments in the war called WW2, the Jewish on the other hand were slaughtered in a Genocide called Holocaust. That Holocaust had its root in the kind of anti-Jew protests that you are downplaying here (in the sense that you disagree with the London police how that they should prioritise their job). If you really want people to respect your arguments and learn from you, call the Holocaust Holocaust and avoid continuing any sentence about it with a "but...".

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Horatio Nelson on May 17, 2021 8:14:27 GMT 1, Tab1 - are you really trying to underplay the seriousness of something like this? At a minimum it seems like you are unable to put yourself in the shoes of the victims here.
To put it in a way that you may understand - imagine a cavalcade of cars came to your village driving around saying “f*** all art collectors - destroy their prints and rape their family members”. If you were to call the police and they said they would send out patrol cars and a helicopter to find those individuals, i don’t think you’d be complaining.

Hiroshima lost how many innocent lives? Millions of lives lost through slavery over 400 years.the Japanese slaughtered millions of Chinese in the occupation of China during ww2. The Russians slaughtered whole towns in the occupation of Poland after the war. Concentration and death camps the nazi developed from first using in Africa on the African populations. For the world to develop, we are supposed to learn from the mistakes made in the past and stop these types of groups with their ideologies from reaching power also not to lay hate on future generations that had no part in past events. , these regimes were causing the issues , the government in power not the people / citizens are the issue. The same issues today why should this not be discussed and if so viewed as anti semite, this is why I quoted earlier the sensitivity in approaching this subject, any other view is anti semite now? You show hostility with your vented anger and bringing the holocaust into the argument when talking about events happening today, as you class yourself as an educated pompous twit My point being originally isreal more that any other country in modern times is aware of the suffering division causes but has set up these conditions of ghettos and division that it’s people once suffered.

Same argument, imagine a group of people coming to your house and forcing and dragging you and your family with kids out of your own home with out your possessions then bulldozing your home you built for your family with no legal rights or financial compensation ? You have strong opinions on discussion on a cost of helicopter being called out for comments but silence and no opinion on these events ?that occur regularly
