Latest Travel Advice:
Despite recent announcements by President Trump the British Foreign Office (FCO) does not advise against travel to the region, however visitors are advised to avoid the Old City of Jerusalem from 6pm 07/12/17 until 6am on 09/12/17 as Palestinian factions have called for mass protests. The Old City of Jerusalem is not near the hotel, however when visiting Bethlehem and other parts of the West Bank you should be aware that other protests could break out. Official advice is to avoid all demonstrations and follow the instructions of local police. Last updated 07/12/17.
I hope everyone there is safe, travellers and locals.

The barracks is exactly as you’d imagine, designed to look like an army barracks with Israeli surplus equipment.
Didn’t get a chance to look at the other rooms you mentioned but i’d Definitely book the $30 tour. Although with the current situation they might possibly be suspended for a while as it’s through the exact places you can see the local protests/disturbances on the news.
Get in contact with Alaa the taxi driver on instagram before you go for any other sightseeing you might want to do whilst there.

Tours are fantastic if you can do them. They really give insight into the situation and then hotel museum expands it even more. The view from the scenic room with the telescope is unbelievable. Have fun!
Edit, I'd go for the hotel transfers as well. Especially on the way back. Hop in a car and nonstop through the checkpoints.

Best tip: everybody wants to see every room, so socialise with the other guests and visit around.

Got a full refund on the flights as they couldn’t put us on another between today and Tuesday when I had the return booked. Not sure if I’ll get anything back from the hotel though as their terms and conditions specify 72 hours for full refund or 48 for partial. Might have to see what I can get through my travel insurance for that

Not sure if I’ll get anything back from the hotel though as their terms and conditions specify 72 hours for full refund or 48 for partial. Might have to see what I can get through my travel insurance for that |
