That would be very weird : "Thank you for helping me out, now you can buy my very expensive complementary print". These VIP prints are for making some extra cash imo. and imo have nothing to do with an artists"friends". I wouldn't charge my friends anything if they helped me. |

That's not always (or even usually) the case. I lived in Las Vegas during the housing bubble. Investors (mostly from LA) were buying up new construction five and ten houses at a time before they were even built. Then selling them before the construction was complete.
Flipping is also very common with condos and lofts. Investors will buy up several units in a building when the project is first launched and resale them quickly for a profit.
The downside is real estate flipping contributes to housing bubbles. When those bubbles burst, real estate flippers stand to lose everything. As they probably should.
