Unfortunately, Very Little Helps by Banksy is no longer available.
In regards to Space Invader, we are not looking to sell our inventory at the moment since we are low in stock. If you have any pieces that you may think of letting go, please let me know.

I have no idea... But we've seen it with some other artists before, then things settle back down.
Some invader prints have always been popular, but when you see the cigarette packets selling for thousands, then it seems more hype than real popularity at play.

IMHO it's a simple case of supply and demand, supply is/has been low due to relatively small editions, demand is high due to auction prices and the points made above by phat planet about his standing/shows/longevity/general appeal of work etc.
This lack of supply cause price rises, people have knee jerk reaction to get on board and this further lowers supply as usual online galleries have stock exhausted and pushes up prices and reinforces the feeling people have of missing the boat.
As prices jump 100%+ in a very short time limited amounts of long term collectors cash out reinforcing the price rises/demand as multiple people chase a handful of prints. I'm sure a greater number are holding, like this gallery, to see where the prices go.
It could be seen as hype or it could be natural market conditions for an artist with increasingly limited supply and correspondingly increasing demand. Depends on whether the sales are done by one or more people with a strategy in mind or simply a large and increasing pool of collectors looking to get one due to a genuine feeling of prices going banjo.
From my personal perspective I've always really wanted a set of the Invasion prints for the wall and recently found myself chasing them here and there to try and get them. There is literally almost nothing from Invader out there and I would have paid strong prices. This definitely made me feel like paying more as I felt I would miss having these in my collection. I was about to pay $5k for a nice space vibes AP! I assume this is a fairly common feeling. I've decided to sit it out and wait to see if it's a bump or if it's permanent abd even possibly the start of larger growth.

There's never been a shortage of prints for sale or trade, either here, ebay or other forums, so I find supply and demand to be an unlikely reason for a price rise.
