Ppl clicking the link on social media came thru... not what happened. i clicked through to the webpage via twitter and IG. the print was marked as SOLD OUT. the people that scored a print kept reloading the page. they added inventory about 10 minutes after they announced it. their announcement that "L.E.D. by Invader is now live on our website. You can purchase the item here: ow.ly/JiwC30eDVDQ " was a bit misleading as it wasn't live.

It was live but all carted 10 precise minutes later (which is the average time of the cart to empty) the print was available

Invader LED Print, by JW on Aug 24, 2017 20:41:54 GMT 1, Almost every online drop is a pain. Beyond luck, it's about perseverance and commitment (bots excluded).
I've learned to never give up when when I see the Sold Out sign. These days they'll tell you on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram when they're really done.
Credit cards get declined, people try their luck with no real interest to buy, people hit refresh at a critical time. Every drop has its own deficiencies.
This 1 star member is fairly chuffed today. No interest in selling.
And to add just a touch of positivity to this thread, here's my RVE just back from MFM.

It doesn't make them better or more important per se, but it definitely makes the forum a forum. Without that it's just a niche version of eBay. Oh hang on! That's nothing to do with the invader release btw!

Invader LED Print, by Deleted on Aug 24, 2017 22:43:01 GMT 1, Good little interview, Who's in the 5% then?
I Have been preaching for years to anyone that will listen about the global interest and potential of Urban Art as an investment yet due to finances I missed the (best) early years of collecting so am now playing a bit of catch up with a limited budget. I find it fascinating that we are actually seeing this movement happen and for most of us on here we have seen it from the get go.....I liken it to those who saw and were able to buy pieces from the guy's who were part of the New York school (mainly the action painters) in the 40s, 50s and 60'. Or there at the start of any art movement for that fact.
This may be a daft question but we have had various movements such as impressionism, post Impressionist, Modernist, Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism, Cubisim, Pop art etc etc so my possibly dumb question is "do we actually have a name for the Urban Art movement"? I suppose the obvious would be Urbanism?
What I find interesting and often spend many a minute thinking about is will we see a decline at some point or less of an interest in the market whilst people venture into other art investments (I cannot imagine what though)and then ultimately see a revival in say 20-30 years where prices will really rocket.
Just thinking out loud...

Invader LED Print, by chevyav53 on Aug 24, 2017 22:54:27 GMT 1, I often wonder the same, especially for Banksy if he really is all about what he allegedly claims to be. My hope is Banksy is a collective of artists and that is revealed at some time or he plays a cruel joke on everyone, say flood the market or something to devalue his work. But art is subjective, look how Basquiat surpassed Warhol as most expensive American artist. You do have to wonder if Invader will hold its value over time given the simplicity of the work. All it takes is the artist named Pong to come along and unseat him by blasting his works off the walls in some political message. But fun to see a movement happening.
