Harland Miller: Painting For Charles Addams, by charliem on Jun 8, 2017 16:56:18 GMT 1, For anyone unsure on this print, I highly recommend a trip to White Cube gallery to view it in person!
The photos do not do it justice, it's quite beautiful, not as dark as in the photos and the gold and the red really stand out.
Apparently Miller's favourite print too.
Fully screen printed and was framed next to the Giclee rags to polyester print, but the PFCA blows it out the water IMO. I can't believe this is still just £2400!
Proudly added to the collection!

Mines being framed as we speak, looking forward to getting it home. Do you have any pics of it framed up?

Cant be many left now!

I can't see this hanging around much longer, maybe not too many people know about this one?
the size of the print, its screened, the quality I'm sure is very good. I dont think the online image does it justice, id like to see it in person.
No other Harland Millers around this price. Even the new very small 'hates outta date' one is selling close to this.

Harland Miller: Painting For Charles Addams, by slipry on Jul 26, 2017 17:51:18 GMT 1, I think, (IMHO) w/ all H. Miller pieces, that the subject stokes the desirability. W/ this one, unless you are in a tormented type of relationship, or have been in the past, where this specific relationship identification is "2nd nature" , and you are willing to "wear it", does this particular piece speak strongly, and attractively to you (excuse the run-on!).
LOL
Hilarious that I just typed that out; but I think it holds weight. This Miller is a tough one to admit to on a personal level, and even if you relate, how well do you think the next bloke, guy, dude, lady etc.;.... "receives" that message in an attractive "light" to purchase the print (read: message)?
Ahhhh, good 'ol primal instincts getting in the way of 'good' art. ...or not : )

Correct; that was my point, even though it was presented in a round-about and long-winded way. My apologies ...
This is primal material he is working with, and if you are on-board with it, then you are comfortable.
Classic Miller material (IMHO); however, this particular piece dips it's toes in a little bit deeper into that "disturbed" deep-end of the pool.
...just my 2 cets from the peanut gallery : )

Harland Miller: Painting For Charles Addams, by Deleted on Jul 26, 2017 18:21:23 GMT 1, It's funny I don't see the darkness.. more a piss take of the 'our perfect relationship' people . No relationship is perfect and I love the words on this. It's not as physically dark in the flesh either. The gold pops beautifully. the 'penguin' obsession will die as Harland changes his style and i think these will prove a great buy at £3000!
Yes I am an owner..

For me, I am with you - I see this as a big piss take of the relationship.... where I do not agree with you is the penguin comment - it has been a great series and some of them just make me laugh.
I am an owner of it two and the gold is as you say beautiful.

The penguins are amazing! I 100% agree but they are a moment in time.. if harlands career lasted 30 years and penguins represented 3 that's 10%.. something far more incredible could be round the corner.. I also have a penguin and love it but it won't define his career for me..

Perhaps she is not in 100% agreement with the sentiment?
I have to say you are a braver man than I to even dare frame and place this without the 'hang police' giving a thumbs up! Its not as if its 5inches by 10inches - I have it and its f'ing massive.... not one you can miss easily!
On a positive note..... the price of these have increased!
:-)
