A muralist who made a mint through his series of murals at the Facebook HQ in the early 2000s was picked to succeed the five-month reign of PichiAvo at the Bowery Graffiti Wall. Goldman Properties, owner of the four-story canvas (and the land on which it sits), announced yesterday that Korean-American artist David Choe will begin painting next week.
The mobile lift is already stashed near the wall in anticipation of the job.
“You can’t spell painting without spelling pain – and the only way out of pain is through pain,” Choe said in a public statement.
Painting the Bowery Wall is going to church to pray and worship in public where other misfit kindred spirits before me have taken pilgrimage to this wall to leave behind their prayers. Painting is my church with no building; it’s my prayer with no words. I will exorcise my demons on a very public historic wall for you to witness as I heal my pain through painting. I’ll leave a mark behind for you to see as hope for signs of healing. This will be a wall where the blind that cannot see, those who are mentally challenged, mentally disturbed, those with missing limbs, and no voice can express themselves, together with me. Please pray with me with your eyes open.
The new piece will be on display through October 2017.

It happens to a lot of artists that get asked to do a mural.
The client often has the habit of wandering in when the work has just started or not finished and deciding they want changes made and those type of clients are the worst type for an artist.
The client should just let the artist get on with it and not interfere or give their ideas. That is if the client hired the artist based on the client not knowing what they wanted and giving the artist free reign.
I can see why Choe felt awkward. The client undermining his confidence.
That was probably before Choe gained his new two hundred million dollar confidence.

Choe said what he said without incriminating himself or if he did incriminate himself, unless a victim comes forward and presses charges against this multi millionaire it's just rhetoric.
