Police said anyone taking part in the offer could also be prosecuted. "It is a criminal offence under the Representation of the People Act 1983 for any voter to accept or agree to accept a gift or similar in return for voting or refraining from voting. "Any person participating in an offer to receive a gift is at risk of being prosecuted." 'Souvenir piece' The offer has been made to voters in the Bristol North West, Bristol West, North Somerset, Thornbury, Kingswood and Filton constituencies in and around Banksy's home city. The artist wrote on his website: "Simply send in a photo of your ballot paper from polling day showing you voted against the Conservative candidate and this complimentary gift will be mailed to you." The artwork, which he has also put on his Instagram page, reprises his well-known "girl with a balloon" motif, but with a Union Jack in the balloon. Totally agree,I said earlier that there will be lots of people still changing their vote and taking photos hoping to get a print.So job done.

You don't need to follow through on something in order to influence. he's got free publicity and the hope of a free print for voting against tories. I'd say he is playing them at their own game, but just more open about it as opposed to ยฃ250,000 undisclosed amounts recently uncovered by the electoral commission by the tories in their last campaign.

Nooo, i really liked it, GWB on its dull yellow paper and dull red balloon, needed a lift, and look its the union jack being blown away from her grasp, what does it mean, ponder, ponder
Though i did prefer candle in the wind rehash too

Perhaps people were inspired to think that their vote is worth something...
Perhaps people were forced to think about politics on a local, national and international level...about influence and motivations...past, present and future...
It was fun to imagine prints of that image being mailed out to voters but did anyone really believe that to be the case?
Think of how often empty promises are made...by politicians, by advertisers, by the media...how often the news is wrong, misleading or (sigh) fake...
Hate it, love it, disregard it...whatever your position, it's limited to right now...
Look at the big picture and do something about it!
Or don't. But if you're not actually out there making a difference one way or another your opinion (vote) isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
