Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Black Apple Art on Mar 21, 2017 22:04:04 GMT 1, Very strong results. It's amazing how S&S has come from behind and now up where, IMO, it should be. I think CWSB is now the "S&S" and extremely undervalued. Would be nice to see one go at auction now.

Worse than that it takes two fckwits - though one had a lucky escape!
I also thought the Steve Powers result was very strong - over a grand for one of his prints must be a first.

The description read: '...The full sheet printed to the edges'. Maybe the aforementioned fckwit thought they'd be getting the full sheet of tenners - even though the dimensions were also clearly in the description. Thats the only conceivable reason I could think of - apart from the heady mix of fuckwittery and too much money.

On occassion they certainly do have an element of collusion as has been witnessed by some incredibly strong results that have rippled across the market before returning to normal a couple of years later...with the desired monetary effect first of course ...

The bids on the tenner all came from ARTSY on the website it said before the sale started current bid ยฃ3,800 which means it was all absentee bids on the ARTSY site. They used the Di-Faced as the banner ad for the sale, so my guess is two people just saw it and went nuts bidding against each other. It happens. I was in a sale recently where a print that normally makes ยฃ1500 at most sold for ยฃ17,000! I watched it happen two madmen that just wouldn't let the other have it - my banana is bigger than your banana

Cool statement.
But now please educate us because it kind of looks like a baseless accusation, made anonymously, which you have to agree is slightly hard to take at face value...

On occassion they certainly do have an element of collusion as has been witnessed by some incredibly strong results that have rippled across the market before returning to normal a couple of years later...with the desired monetary effect first of course ... That's collusion by dealers, not the auction houses. The auction houses don't own the material they are middlemen who sell it in a public forum. The collusion is the dealers who band together to pump up prices to increase the value of their stock holding, as was seen with a lot of that terrible West Coast Zombie Abstraction of a few years ago, which has crashed heavily now.

Not the first time they did this.
I honestly think it was two people who don't know the market and thought they were getting something special. Which it is, but it's a lot for something with no official authentication.
Too much money / not enough education.
