It's definitely not sustainable. Then again those who have paid big money as an investment will only aim to sell at a profit which reduces the number available. That is unless they are forced to sell due to economic circumstances. Such as another recession. Maybe a Brexit shaped one?

I think most people who bought a Banksy several years ago would attest to this, that not only has their art appreciated substantially but also they have had the pleasure of enjoying it on their walls. Yes, it all could go pear shaped quickly and pop but so can many more traditional investments, look what happened to the demise of many banks and investment funds in 2008. |

From what I can tell of sales over the last year, signed seems to be about a three- to four-fold premium over unsigned. Feel free to correct me.

Ha that won't be necessary, I understand the motivation in trying to talk prices down, I too wish I could afford to have some Banksy canvases but I missed the boat also. Instead I'm collecting a few other artists who are still affordable.
