Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by hnkpnk on Jan 27, 2021 19:57:12 GMT 1, Not sure where the 36% buyers premium is from as it wrong? ... I followed the auction at liveauctioneers and when the lots ended you could see the price including all premiums etc. The prices were over 37%. Don't ask me what they consist of, but I'm sure of this.

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by fusion0001 on Jan 27, 2021 21:59:03 GMT 1, If anyone is interested in how this compares to historical price levels on average: the auction brought the banksy-value print index to +2.65% for January, correcting any of the down-side from poor results at Phillips, so on average we landed slightly higher than latest 2020 Nov-Dec price levels.

I understand your frustration. When it comes to selling and buying the Forum is rife with people who make an offer or promise a deal and then disappear or don't bother to respond to personal messages to let you know where you stand. It's been like that for years.
I also understand people getting caught up in the moment when it comes to buying art. What I never quite understand is why they don't have the courtesy to politely back out when they change their mind.
Thor has privately apologised and explained which is more than most do on here. So maybe cut the guy a little slack, be the bigger man, accept the apology and move on. It would help make this place a little bit nicer.

Without commenting on this particular situation, there is too much shittery with regards to buying/selling and people with multiple accounts so when it clearly happens it should get called out so that people can see the type of person they may be doing business with in future.

Once a skater always a Skater, it's in the blood. Luckily my kids skate (and pretty good) so road trips at weekends are never an issue, where are you based?

I don't think it came from a bad place. Emin reported that she's got the cancer and it's pretty bad. It's not like you can fix that with a band aid and Panadol.

The post was implying that someone got a good deal at Forum today considering the fact that the artist is nearing death based on a โrumourโ! The post is shocking from start to finish whether it was from a bad place or not!

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Deleted on Feb 16, 2021 11:35:29 GMT 1, We're experiencing quite a flood to the market, I presume as a reaction to the continued economic squeeze?! Trouble is, more and more prints are now landing in the hands of the wealthy, so as the shift of collectors moves away from the average Joe to those with lots of disposable cash, the prices are going to continue to climb. I suspect we'll see a settling of prices this spring (given the volume coming to market) and possibly another rise later in the year?

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Graham H on Feb 16, 2021 13:23:23 GMT 1, Id say its more a reflection of people seeing the prices over the last 9 months and cashing in / taking the money for life changing circumstances..
Seemed obvious there would be a lot more works in the auctions at the start of this year with it taking 3 - 6 months to get works into auctions
I dont see a problem in them going to wealthy people if it means changing the lives for the sellers which in some instances at the money they are now going at is a realistic thing that will happen

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Sundowner on Feb 19, 2021 11:03:13 GMT 1, Too many dedicated Banksy sales at the moment IMO - this is Forum's second one this year already and it's the same old (mostly unsigned) prints every time, apart from the unique Donut. I'm also intrigued to understand why anyone would consign prints to Forum Auctions over Sothebys or Christies, unless they are offering 0% sellers fees of course - anyone have a view?

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by 18921892 on Feb 19, 2021 11:03:40 GMT 1, Very few originals seem to be on the market, I don't think Forum auctions have ever had one. It will be interesting to see if Sotheby's have any. It may be fair to say a few people are cashing out of prints but not out of originals, possibly trying to get out of prints into originals. The main galleries don't seem to have any except maybe Andipa and they seem to be selling one's they had in their Italian show.

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Graham H on Feb 19, 2021 12:02:25 GMT 1, Id say one of the reasons is its a lot easier and quicker to get works into Forum - as well as zero selling commission.
Sotheby's and Christies now taking works for September onwards.. thats a lifetime in Banksy world and im sure some people will be nervous about what can happen in that time and are hedging their bets and cashing out now sooner, rather than later even with the possibility of a lower return
Saying that, I may be wrong but havent Forum had some record prices for some prints.. higher than Christies / Sotherbys?
Its a gamble either way, but these are getting to big money gambles now.. with tens of thousands of pounds differences in some cases looking at results of even the same print a week apart in different places
I suppose its a nice place to be in having a choice, but must be hard to even ponder what could happen return wise
Too many dedicated Banksy sales at the moment IMO - this is Forum's second one this year already and it's the same old (mostly unsigned) prints every time, apart from the unique Donut. I'm also intrigued to understand why anyone would consign prints to Forum Auctions over Sothebys or Christies, unless they are offering 0% sellers fees of course - anyone have a view?
