Harland Miller , by Deleted on Jun 16, 2017 20:44:37 GMT 1, I think the cost alone of the older pioneers art means money has to be part of the consideration. ยฃ10,000+ on a piece of art is serious, so it can't be compared to buying a banksy / invader back in the day for ยฃ150. It's a fair point Russ. And I appreciate you engaging in such a way. I was merely expressing a regret. I was not suggesting that I am right and anyone else is wrong. That's hardly my place. However, the net effect is that I have pretty much given up posting on the artists you might not know thread, because people seemed much more interested in the price check threads. Lots of others have given up posting pictures of street art and graff. I find that a crying shame. The London street art thread in particular was fabulous.
Agree whole heartily with all your comments there.. money changes most things but not street art! We should be posting like crazy. I recently saw the bow and irony chiwawa in east London and my mind was blown. Scale is ridiculous. But it's easier to post that on Instagram for me

Fair enough. But please do post on here if you get the chance. I know both artists, Irony in particular. They are both lovely chaps. Irony was kind enough to send me a drawing of his Upfest piece a few years ago. Very generous. Both have been very generous with their time, giving my lad guidance. Top blokes.

There might be other reasons for people not posting in the London Street Art thread given that some have moved on and others ... well let's just say that it's not because their posts weren't popular .
Personally, I wouldn't let your perception of the price check threads put you off from posting . I and many others appreciate finding out about new /relatively unknown artists. Even some of those who are busy "polishing their flat files" ( a genius phrase borrowed from a member on here) (no pun intended) and counting their ยฃยฃยฃ$$$ - surely aren't just motivated by money and appreciate art for art's sake. It's just that money discussions generate more debate and it seems that won't change any time soon.
Whilst I may not always express it, you and others who give oxygen to relatively unknown/ new artists are to be saluted .
Tongue in cheek " nil bastardum carborundum"

Now, anyone know where I can get a passport?!

That's the spirit - I'll chip in too shortly - should be worth a laugh!

Please do continue posting more artists in that thread if you can face it. It's the best thing about this place for me, and multiple times I've ended up staying up half the night having followed one of your links, then exploring off from there.
