Will Martyr, Wanderlust Exhibition & Print Release, by kendo on Jun 21, 2017 11:11:23 GMT 1, I'm surprised that there has been no mention of this but a very impressive exhibition is happening this week by Will Martyr. Will Martyr, Wanderlust Exhibition & Print Release, by medichead on Jun 21, 2017 11:16:04 GMT 1, Love Will's work - it has to be seen in the flesh to be appreciated. It is so easy to see the painstaking hours of precise tape and paint work and the end result is something quite special indeed.
Huge fan and will certainly be making my way down to Unit when I can.

Will Martyr, Wanderlust Exhibition & Print Release, by Everyone Owes on Jun 21, 2017 17:45:05 GMT 1, Am currently working on Wardour Street and the exhibition looks great. I know very little about him but clearly influenced by Hockney - clean precise architectural lines juxtaposed w/landscapes and the scale of the pieces are very reminiscent of DH's LA works.
Does anyone have any other info on him? His prices are upto £27k for 200 x 250 OG - justifiably probably given the quality of the work. Prints are £800 - 47 colour separation silkscreen done by Jealous I think.

Will Martyr, Wanderlust Exhibition & Print Release, by Blakeies on Jun 23, 2017 15:13:09 GMT 1, I absolutely love his work. The style and subject matter works perfectly for me. I was seriously tempted with a piece but thought they might be too expensive. Very pleased for him that they have all sold out though.

Will Martyr, Wanderlust Exhibition & Print Release, by Everyone Owes on Jun 23, 2017 17:10:46 GMT 1, Some shots from the exhibition - if you're in Soho, recommended. Almost all OGs gone, print editions still left. The print is the last three pics, framed, preceded by the original A Way With Words. The 47 layers on the print are as clean and precise as the OG. Would have liked a few lines to have been varnished, as Jealous have clearly gone to a lot of trouble with it, but that's my personal preference, still looks great in the flesh. Enjoy!

Will Martyr, Wanderlust Exhibition & Print Release, by kendo on Jul 22, 2017 19:20:31 GMT 1, Looking forward to hopefully receiving the print this week (I think they are sending them out on Wednesday) - with it being a 47 colour separation silkscreen I imagine the quality to be very impressive!
Did anyone else pick up a print and do you find email communication to be quite poor (very slow)!?

(crappy iPhone pictures, so they are slightly blurry)

Definitely not street art! Not sure if urban art either. Maybe a new forum heading needed.

edit: and most importantly: what about forum hype harland miller? any street/urban cred?

Will Martyr, Wanderlust Exhibition & Print Release, by kendo on Aug 17, 2017 9:46:27 GMT 1, Unpacked mine yesterday - the quality is brilliant with vibrant colours! The piece itself really lends itself to the silkscreen (47 colours) process and Jealous have done a fantastic job in producing these! It would have been cool to get a behind the scenes glimpse into the production of these! Any ideas / suggestions on framing?

Personally I wouldn't call Richter a street or urban artist, or Friedriks, and am by no means attacking this artist but am suggesting a new category as they are not street or urban (unless we call artists that live in cities "urban"). Miller is divisive here, but there is definitely an edge to his work that many lack. I'm not sure he can do book covers for another 10-15 years though.

You would make a better argument by leaving Banksy out of the mix, he has proven himself to be the real deal (so say fans, art collectors, museums, auction houses and media both indie and mainstream), and continues to be more relevant and "street" than virtually all of the new artists introduced here over the last 5 years. I'll leave the others to personal taste, personally I own none of the remaining 3 you mention.
