As I've been on a trip the last days, I delivered it to my family's home, where it arrived like this yesterday. Unfortunately my family accepted the tube, but they took down the UPS deliveryman's name, who was aware of the damage before he handed it out as well.
Any ideas what to do now? Contact UPS or StudioCromie because of it? I have not opened it yet, maybe give it a check if it is undamaged (probably not)?

IMO Revok took an art device intended for children to use and he updated it to give it a much more mature feel. I agree with a previous comment that he's still finding his voice as a fine artist, but I love his work with wood and the "Spiro" stuff he's putting out lately. He's def one to watch.

He's done butterfly mosaic work, spin art and spot paintings, most of which could be done by a 6th grader. However, I think the loop paintings and multiple spray can apparatus paintings look great; biased here as I own one of the former. I think of his work as kind of post-street minimalism and geometric abstraction... with a good awareness that I sound somewhere between pretentious and moronic... haha. Not to mention that he makes look buildings look a lot less boring. |

Whilst there is nothing wrong with having a print that is similar to others, this doesn't really grab me or really give me any emotion towards it.

That's a good point. I guess for me, I don't find the end result of Revok's work asthetically pleasing. So even though Hirst's process is gimmicky, I overlook the process because I like the images. Maybe the gimmick stands out if you aren't pleased by the results. Do you like Hirst's work?
I guess I don't understand when people say that he's a talented guy. What is the talent beyond pulling a contraption across a wall? Maybe showing too much of his process and others who use these sort of simple processes, demysties the artist's Aura a bit too much.

They come from a pure graffiti background and use the techniques and artsupplies from that world for their artwork. Youโre not just buying a pretty picture (my opinion), youโre buying a concept and a result of a proces/technique. These artists have spent years honing their skills and already paid their dues on the streets. They choose to explore their art in those directions as an extension of their streetwork. You might not like it, thatโs ok. To me itโs post graffiti in itโs finest form and I love it. I once showed a SAIEO booklet to a co-worker of mine, he didnโt understand it, he said Iโve seen better graffiti around the corner of my house. Itโs easy to overlook the choices artists make, itโs like saying my three year old could do this, looking at a Cobra painting. It's too bad I try not to buy prints anymore because I really like what Revok puts out at the moment, but I'm afraid originals are way out of my league..

Revok is still doing raw graffiti styles on freights and imo he won't leave graffiti tomorrow. But you're right saying he's still trying to find his way in fine art |

Anyone see the latest story from Anthony Chris on Instagram? Looks like some large circular prints of REVOK's Spirograph imagery. Two editions by the looks of it.
