I seem to recall that the HURTYOUBAD blog said something along the lines of 'If I had $25k lying around I'd pick up a piece' last time he had a show at Known Gallery. I don't know if this was joke price or not but I think it's safe to say they're pretty expensive. I wonder how this kind of piece will work as a gilcee print? They're very physical, textured works and a print could look very flat. Mind you, I thought the same think about Josรฉ Parlรก's work and the consensus seems pretty positive about his Elms Lester prints.

Since I came to Detroit two years ago Iโve been making these assemblage pieces that are composed of bits and pieces of the city, it has definitely been a moment in time, and now it is nearly done. I made this body of work from here, about here, all made while I was living here and now Iโm leaving, so thatโs going to be finished. This will be the only print that Iโm going to produce of this body of work. When itโs done, itโs done.

Artists Jim Darling and Revok recently collaborated on this found object art installation in an abandoned church in the heart of Detroit. Working on the piece for two days, the artists dragged an organ up two flights of stairs along with any other pieces of debris in the vicinity they could use to assemble the infinity symbol shown here.
"When we started this there wasnโt a plan at all. We drove around for a few days just looking at everything. He took me everywhere in Detroit. The church we picked was one of the buildings we looked at on the first or second day of my trip. There were a lot of great elements to work with and the building was amazing. It took us about two and a half exhausting days to complete." - Jim Darling
"It actually came together much faster than a typical "mural wall" or a piece I create in the studio, however it was much more physically laborious, which was really good! I remember carrying a giant organ and a piano up two narrow flights of stairs from the basement. Jim and I decided it would be most satisfying to create the installation only from objects and materials we could scavenge from the site itself. The church is massive so we carried all kinds of big heavy shit and swept 2 inches of dirt from the entire floor where the installation was created." - Revok
