It would appear that those that flip so soon agter release were never interested in the piece per se, just to make a quick buck which is even more galling for those genuine buyers who did not get one!!! Yes people make money a year later but at least the % chance of them being a genuine collector at the start is far higher!!
There is a difference!!

Lol if anyone ever won the lottery on here people would be offering him $1 for the winning ticket and accusing them of flipping
It's not the flip that I care about, let's be honest you would be a fool to drop 1200 on this print if you didn't except to someday make money on it, but it's the selling for a friend part. Like yeah your friend is informed and savvy enough to be successful in one of the hottest drops this year but he can't manage to sign up to a forum. It's not like he's using a long standing trusted member to help boost the sale is it?

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by dreadnatty on Jul 1, 2017 16:29:18 GMT 1, The ratio of actual posting of art/discussion of art/art related events to FS threads in this place is a joke. Just look thru the ACTIVE THREADS page. The amount of people in the last 12-15 months that come on here and do nothing but sell is pathetic. This place has become eBay without the fees with some political banter - I hope management is proud.

I understand and I see both sides of it, for me personally, 80% of the art I own is from flippers because I simply don't have the time to stay up on every single drop I want and sit on the computer F5ing hoping to cart one.. I've tried and it never happens, my businesses and daily interactions won't allow it.. so thats something I accept and I know that if I miss a drop I can shoot right over to eBay and buy one, I just look at it like a 'second / more expensive' release time haha

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by Dexter Bulldog on Jul 1, 2017 16:53:19 GMT 1, His friend doesnt know how to use the internet? Plenty of places to flip this other than here(Heavens forbid his friend actually pay a fee to cut into his margins). Just poor taste to try and flip this on here after so many genuine collectors(many who carted and had credit cards cancelled in US) didnt get. This is exactly why this place has become garbage and many long time, knowledgeable members left/refuse to make significant contributions anymore. It sucks that so many long standing guys have given up. I still consider myself a newby here, and value the contributions of someone from 10 years ago. I notice that there's a lot of bickering, complaining, flipping, trolling and the majority of it tends to be from people that joined this year or last. Just bad attitudes all around here, where as it seems it was once quite civil.
for the record, I don't really have a problem with people selling something of value so soon after purchase if they're not an asshole about it. "My friend". Come on. Just seems there's fewer quality people here these days and it's a bummer because as someone who is not on social media, this is my main outlet for this world.

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by pr.yu on Jul 1, 2017 16:57:29 GMT 1, Don't really want to get caught in the fray here, but how long does one have to hold a piece before it's no longer considered flipping? Or is there some fancy calculus that includes amount over cost and duration held? Everything I've bought from others on here is essentially a delayed flip (or sometimes not so delayed), is it not?
And do we really WANT middle men? If two consenting adults come up with a fair price and don't want to add cost by including eBay or an auction house, that seems like good economic sense to me. But go ahead and yell at me. I'm a big boy. I can take it.
And I'd also agree with whoever wrote that the majority of people who paid 1200 Euro for this print are expecting to make more from it later on. Don't see you keeping it on the wall at the nursing home.

Little different than what went on here. I don't think anyone bought Invader 3-4 years ago expecting to flip years later. The problem though is the dynamic now. This is a community. We help and support each other. I really don't have a problem with flipping but do it on Ebay. A lot of people here got screwed out of a print by a guy trying to make a quick buck...then a day later same guy comes back and tries to sell it for 4-5x the price? I get why people would be upset.
IF I tried to flip like that, I'd go to ebay. Wouldn't even have the heart to do it here.

Looking for the following (with cash adjustments in either direction as necessary.) - Kaws prints (YSKIK favorite) - Harland Miller (strong preference for Penguins) - Harrington Fight Club - Parlas, newer Harringtons, Shep HPM Please don't shoot the messenger. Can send photos to anyone interested as needed. It's obviously you and not your imaginary 'friend'. Just come clean, it's you that has a strong preference for penguins!

Fight club was £1000 and this was about the same. Not sure why everyone is losing their sh*t over it. If I had come on here saying yeah the dude is looking for x * cost that would be a different story but he's looking for art for f*cks sake

No it isn't the end of the world but why in this day and age can't we have transparency. Don't they have a computer or smartphone can't they answer their own questions?

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by dani on Jul 1, 2017 17:33:31 GMT 1, It seems that only one side has deckled edges. I'm wondering if floating is necessary or better than having a mount. I think I'll go for a white frame and and a double mount B&W. Not 100% convinced though. Decisions decisions.... This I The way I'm framing. Thick black gloss double mount B&W Fire I agree this would look better with a mount, I just don't think it's too big to float if that's what you want to do.
I'll probably do something similar. Black frame with either a B&W double mount or a white mat with a black core. Might add a silver fillet somewhere also.

About the flipping. If you're aware that you can get $3-4k if you just be fast enough, it's quite hard to resist. It's 3-4 month avarage salary in Poland. It's not perfect but nobody should be that surprised.
Drops are almost like sport now. Here 150 world's fasters dropers got the reward of an Invader print. Some of them might using doping (bots).
That said I understand that people get annoyed by someone you otherwise have almost zero contribution to this forum tries to flip a print 4 days after the release. (I'm even a little bit annoyed that this thread has almost 40 pages and people can stop talking how happy they are cause they've managed to get it . There are better places to do that and 10% fees when you're getting 400% profit are fine. So possibly some sensivity would be appreciated.
To finish, I'm the member for the last two years. I'm quite curious how this placed looked 10 years ago. I guess there was no talk about 100k banksy prints And it's not that it's all sell/buy threads. I've learnt a lot, it's not that bad imho.

You clearly do not understand what the term market value means Lol! Let me guess...is it a term used by people with vested interests in inflating somethings price or by flippers making a quick buck at the collectors expense?

All of which sell for much more than their original price anyway so if you own it, it's a good fit. Fight club was £1000 and this was about the same. Not sure why everyone is losing their sh*t over it. If I had come on here saying yeah the dude is looking for x * cost that would be a different story but he's looking for art for f*cks sake
Are you his agent?
how cool
i need an agent
can you order my dinner for me

I have an agent, bren. You can share mine. Not sure he picks up takeaways though. Then again, I've never asked him to.

No no no, dont float something this big I floated the giant Harland Love, can't see how something this size would be an issue?
His museum originals of this imagery are also float mounted.
