Conor Harrington Drawing FS, by mla on Jul 13, 2017 12:30:56 GMT 1, I don't need to review the catalogue. The point I'm making is that the hammer is always far more relevant in determining market value than the estimate.

Hmm in some scenarios, never charity auctions.
You asked for substance and the catalogue does actually do that. The guide prices set by stolen for all the different prices are fair market prices for the work listed, including for the CH piece.
One charity sale exceeded estimate doesn't change the market for the artist. Well if it does not by informed buyers.
OP/MLA do you have other recent sales to support the value on this? Interested now because you demanded myself to substatiate my comments, how do you substatiate yours?
Thank

Conor Harrington Drawing FS, by mla on Jul 13, 2017 12:59:42 GMT 1, I have not made any assertions about the price in this thread. All I've done is asked you to support the ones that you have made, as they could have a potentially detrimental impact on the original poster's ability to sell the work in question.
This line inquiry has already demonstrated that you haven't a clue what you're talking about, so it serves it's purpose, in that no one will view your comments as being from a credible source.
Best of luck with the sale, disappointed.

I'm not a boy. But thanks for being weird about it.
If anyone can show recent pricing then fine. I'm only going by what I've seen from galleries- not what I wish for.
At the end of the day.. if it's priced right It will sell......

Morning glories: "A few years ago in the months before Weekend Warriors, my 2nd solo show at Laz, I set myself a task each morning of doing a quick study before getting on with the larger canvases, kinda like stretching before going for a jog. And thatโs exactly how the large paintings feel sometimes, like running a marathon, so its nice to bang out a few loose pieces to get myself going. I set my stopwatch (not saying for how long) and get going. It makes me make decisions I wouldnโt normally take, if I f**kup thereโs nothing I can do about it."
Read the instagram post. This isn't one of those studies. That was most definately a finished piece, he described it as a piece not a study. And you can tell just by looking at it.

Okay ah I see it is a 'study' but not in the unfinished prep sketch sense of the drawing. It's a finished piece.

The onus is on your to support your value. You've asked others to provide support for their claims, however, those claims amount to nothing more than "you will you not find a similar piece for ยฃ5000", which is a negative claim, that I would argue has already been proven by way of the lack of evidence for your initial assertion.
Arguing with you is a fools errand.
In the interest of contributing some actual evidence to the discussion, I would include these two Morning Glory studies auctioned at Artcurial in October of 2016, which both sold for โฌ11,700 including buyer's premium.

The hammer price for these is less than what he OP is asking for and not much more than ยฃ5k.
These a USD not GBP aren't they?
So three finished oil paintings between 5-6k.
This drawing is overpriced.
Thanks.. Team work!

To an auction house, to cover their fees. Looks this comes down to people paying what they want to pay.. personally on a forum I wouldn't want to match a price that includes the overheads and margin for an auction house but you might. And I would want a fair market price. Everyone's different. Enjoy if you do buy it MLA.

Conor Harrington Drawing FS, by met on Jul 17, 2017 7:33:11 GMT 1, Anyone interested in this piece can have total reliance on the seller and his knowledge of his art. He has been a long standing collector and I would trust his judgement in relation to this piece. Also whoever buys this piece can be assured of the integrity of the seller and that any deal will be handled with due care and honesty. All good and well, but what is with the seller's gimp outfit?
It isn't very reassuring. I saw what happened to Marsellus Wallace in Zed and Maynard's basement. The damage was probably long-lasting, including PTSD.
Because just look at Wallace now โ playing action-movie lackey roles to a creepy, hysteria-prone Scientologist, who calls interviewers "glib" and jumps up on talk-show sofas declaring he's in love.
