Pejac - Scattercrow print, by Dive Jedi on Jul 13, 2017 20:57:19 GMT 1, ... that Katrin Fredriks is rubbish ... I wouldn't buy anything of hers ... I worked in a paint factory in 1985. Accidently dropped a whole pallet of paint on the floor.
I was way ahead of my time.......

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by artepersfizio on Jul 13, 2017 21:11:28 GMT 1, I'm under the impression this print has a charcoal-like finish. Is this true? Is it bad to have the frontside touching glass? Is there anything special about framing this print (fingers crossed) that should be known?

The front side could touch glass if you really wanted it to. It's not going to 'rub off' if that's what you're worried about.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by vater on Jul 13, 2017 21:56:40 GMT 1, Hi y'all,
Enjoy reading everyone's posts and the buzz around the release. Pejac's output for me is really interesting. I remember seeing Wound when initially released and not being overly fussed. Slowly the image has grown on me. Yes it is basic, one dimensional and yet highly effective. Scattercrow seems a step up re price and ambition. I'm puzzled that such an obviously talented artist chose this image over more compelling work. I get the recurring bird theme that runs through his imagery but this choice of print for me isn't his strongest.
Would like to hear other people's views...
I don't own a Pejac but will try for a print tmr. Good luck peeps

Do you have an example of this? I'm now greatly concerned as I believe most of my screenprints are "touching glass". Should I be concerned or is this a minor issue?

What could end up happening is the print can get stuck to the glass. Not a pretty sight, and it can destroy the work... I would be somewhat concerned, personally.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by mla on Jul 13, 2017 22:37:29 GMT 1, I would definitely have any valuable (either monetary or sentimental) works re-framed. I think short term, as long as there is not excess humidity, should be fine, but it is not a good outlook for the long-term to have the prints directly touching the glass.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by chads007 on Jul 13, 2017 22:48:01 GMT 1, Nothing is fully airtight in reality, and guessing that because it's not conservation framed, standard glass would have been used, which will have chemicals on the untreated surface which may cause damage in the long-term.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by wottagunn on Jul 13, 2017 23:10:28 GMT 1, When I first started collecting and framing, I did it on the cheap and with the print touching the glass. I took a lot of those out of the frames a few years back, after being framed for <5 years, and some had suffered the old ink-stuck-on-the-glass thing. So id definitely be concerned if you had prints with monetary/sentimental value framed in such a manner.
Now back to Scattercrow - as with all art, it is subjective, so if it's not your cup of tea then that's all good. I personally love the image, and look forward to framing and displaying it. To all of you not going for it, id certainly appreciate the help

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by avec art on Jul 13, 2017 23:47:39 GMT 1, If you've already got them in frames which fit the print, or prints which fit the frame, then all you need to do is to unseal them, put in spacers, plonk the prints back onto spacers then acid free paper then backing board, re peg, and bob's your unkle, you'll be fine. Wrong time to explain in this thread. I've written quite a lot on the method here, not sure how to find them. PM if you like and I'll try to help.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by Con Art Studio on Jul 14, 2017 4:22:22 GMT 1, all your prints are fcked now...ย hahaha fortunately i have zero humidity and everything is kept in cool areas it doesn't matter if your framed prints are being stored in a cool area. If the paper is touching the glass then it will get damaged, it's just a matter of time. Paper should NEVER touch glass when framed. Either mat board or spacers should be used.
