New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by whob1 on Jul 21, 2017 7:45:37 GMT 1, To be fair, conor is one of my fave artists. My issue has never been the artist, but the kind of hyping here for a print so ordinary and uninspiring. He's a great painter, but this print doesn't represent anything he has done. So again, I wonder what's the fuss over an expensive small digital copy with a signature. There is no artistry behind stuff like this other than making people fight for it and make money off it down the road (hopefully). I have no doubt if it wasn't a CH but a complete unknown, this would still be very much available on the site even at 22£.
So would Banksy - Grannies with that logic. Think its a great little piece of art who many can afford from a very popular artist.

I don't think this is a comparable example....grannies is perfectly representing Banksy, mine and a few others, is this doesn't showcase the artistic brilliance of CH. It's only an opinion of course...
On a side note and generally, the word 'Hate' is banded around a lot on here. Opinions are not always so black and white and I feel it's rather a strong word when talking about art....can we use some more expressive/descriptive vocabulary? 🙂

New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by Lord Lucas Roham on Jul 21, 2017 8:50:09 GMT 1, I copped one of these and personally I am not really feeling it. I mean it's an A4 inkjet print ffs.
However, for £200 it's a better than some of the crap out there and for that reason it's going on my toilet wall in an Ikea frame.

I find this really interesting because I tried to get it but felt the same. I couldn't really care for the print at all but the price made it appealing. I guess no one can resist a bargain

People loved it and then didn't get one, tide turned

New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by Coach on Jul 21, 2017 10:22:36 GMT 1, I still think it's a great print. Not so keen on it being a giclee. But the image is spot on for my taste. I also like the size as wall space is so limited at home. I was not able to buy one. Doesn't alter my opinion of it. It's a little bit of a shame if people who aren't that keen on the image or size still bought one, denying others. But fastest fingers win!

How many purchases are made here because of FOMO? There is a reason why the FS section is filled with failips. Love how everyone hyped the Miaz brothers but now everyone is trying to get rid of their stock.

I'm afraid I don't know what fomo means.

New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by mla on Jul 21, 2017 11:47:43 GMT 1, While this print was free to the other 60 people who own it, I think the context is important. This was not a free giveaway at a show, this was given to friends and family in conjunction with the release of the Watch Your Palace Fall monograph last year. To have a shot at a print I would otherwise not have access to, and at 200 quid no less, is a nice opportunity.
Unfortunately, giclee printing techniques are still the best method for affordably reproducing painted works. If you look to his back catalogue, you will see that the majority of his printed works are giclee, and for good reason; it provides the best results for his type of work. I say that as a lover and collector of prints created using traditional printing techniques.

I have little interest in this piece as mentioned above. I have the classic CH works like transformer, hide and seek and modern monarchy so don't need an A4 giclee.
Regarding pejac I have no idea what the reference is? Are you saying I buy art based on hype? The hype word is so lame. If you like an artist you will talk about them very positively no? If people want to call that hyping then they can crack on I guess.
If I've totally mis understood please let me know cheers

Flippers would be all over this if it was priced cheaper. Good on CH to make this accessible to fans who don't have that much spending power. I think it is ignorant for people to think this was a cash grab by CH because he really doesn't need this chump change to pay his bills.
