One time better half to Max Ernst, she was a major contributor to the surrealist movement. For those that want to see more, check out Leonora Carrington Surrealism, Alchemy and Art, published by Lund Humphries. Going surrealist, no one, not even the boys, gets me like Kay Sage. Her works stops me dead in my tracks and terrifies me.
Kay Sage's catalogue raisonne is scheduled to be published in the fall. I highly recommend to check it out. Amazon had a pricing mistake at one point, listing it for $45. Now it's listed for $165. At that price, it'll likely still be worth it. However, I'd recommend waiting a few months for copies to cycle through the distribution channels and you should be able to get one around $100.
