Banksy • Box Set, Walled Off Hotel, by Coach on Oct 6, 2017 23:39:37 GMT 1, Congratulations on that pick up. I'm waiting for the Grayson Perry gay black cats flag to arrive. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Picked up a nice little drawing by Yulia Nobanov too (I do hope I haven't misspelt her name there). I've framed another couple of Fintan Switzer drawing in the last few days. Nudes after Egon Schiele. Hope you are well my friend. Great idea to get people confused. Like I thought I liked coffee and in fact I really do..... thank you 😊
I don't even understand the point you are making.

Don’t take this the wrong way because I’m sure there are individuals who are genuinely grateful for the new found information, but for those who can’t be arsed to learn something new, don’t deserve the free links you’ve provided, (they probably won’t read them anyway)
It’s just nice to know that someone else took onboard the deeper meaning,
Thank you

However not as many of these have actually been sold by the hotel as people might think (so far). so theres a high amount on ebay compared to sales, which is hardly surprising. Might be skewing things a bit, but they are unlimited i guess so they could keep making them as long as they decide to.
i have a feeling though that banksy wont flood the gates anytime soon, so could still be limited to under a few hundred by the end

This is an interesting point. As we’ve seen with the Tesco “unlimited” posters, well, many years later they appear to be somewhat “limited” (despite their initial “unlimited” status) and due to supply/demand are currently valued somewhere in the £1K-£1.5K range (maybe still a “good buy”?). Having said that, and since these boxes are coming from the actual Hotel (which is very cool) and can only initially be purchased there for sale, I think these too will hold a premium but no one should be paying £3.5K for these now. If an individual wants one, I’d keep looking until one pops up for around £1.5K or less. Anything over that and it’s a much better option to just buy a plane ticket (if that fits into one’s schedule) and buy one at the hotel for approximately £150.00. Going back to the Tesco “unlimited” posters, I wonder how many of these still exist today? I bet a lot less than we think and I bet the “box” will have the same fate...

With the cost of flights/hotels/transfers etc being more than £500, why would anyone sell them for this amount or less?
Disclaimer, I own one that I bought in person. But I'm not looking to sell. Never sold a Banksy and have no interest in doing so.
I don't think they're worth the original £7k they went for on eBay. Not yet anyway. But good luck finding anyone willing to sell them for £500.

I hear ya but you can compare them as they are both “unlimited” and “official” Banksy items but yes, the times are different now then they were then...

Did I miss a joke? For clarity, your position is that the official Banksy Hotel, The Walled Off, is selling “unofficial” Banksy prints in box frames? I don’t think so, mate. Oh, and these “boxes” are also listed on the “official” Walled Off website so there’s that too. Not sure how much more “official” a non-Pest Control Banksy item can be.

I would normally completely agree with everything you say artfan, but pow etc have always had a wonderful way with words and subtle hints. Apart from the grappling hook, which is a signed edition and they did not advertise that fact for a reason - the only things on the shop that are by banksy, mention banksy. Also that item in particular mentions the words ‘unsigned’ and unlimited ’edition’.
If this was not a banksy unsigned / unlimited edition, it would not even mention his name. They know what they are doing there. People have been asking a long time for an unsigned open edition and it is there infront of everyone done to benefit a cause. All the hallmarks of what Banksy does. It is also reflected in the price of it. It is hardly a £10 poster from pow, it is a £125 item. Even the bristol posters were not this much, think they were a tenner? Correct me if i am wrong.
They have been really selective with the combination of words there as they dont want hassle with it. Coas etc. its a tool to get people out there and it looks to be hugely successful. I think as long as you have the original receipt then that is all you need.
“The gift shop is situated towards the back of the hotel and sells items created exclusively for the Walled Off by Banksy. It should not be confused with the ‘Banksy Shop’ next door – which has nothing to do with Banksy at all.”
A way with words again, it sells ‘items’ but does not say everything is from him. The mug for example has no mention.

Banksy • Box Set, Walled Off Hotel, by gd79 on Oct 7, 2017 23:26:10 GMT 1, ART PRINT - I can go on the bay and buy a Warhol art print, and it'll be worth nothing. Fck I can buy an art print of the Mona Lisa (unsigned and unlimited) and I won't be able to sell it. Why - anyone else can do exactly what I just did! And it's an ART PRINT, unsigned and unlimited. Much the same as if I stick my best original canvas in a photocopier.
I'm being over the top, but you get the point. It's a momento of a great trip, not something that Sotheby's will give you 2% selling commission on in a decade.

But it's not a photocopy of an art print or canvas by some randomer selling them on eBay.
ART PRINT - I can go on the bay and buy a Warhol art print, and it'll be worth nothing.

Banksy • Box Set, Walled Off Hotel, by Deleted on Oct 8, 2017 1:57:49 GMT 1, Yup, However not as many of these have actually been sold by the hotel as people might think (so far). so theres a high amount on ebay compared to sales, which is hardly surprising. Might be skewing things a bit, but they are unlimited i guess so they could keep making them as long as they decide to. i have a feeling though that banksy wont flood the gates anytime soon, so could still be limited to under a few hundred by the end This is an interesting point. This is exactly what I was thinking. Well said. Everyone on here saying these are not worth the money or are not worth whatever someone wants to charge are just being bitter and jels. The boxset piece is not that tiny and the artwork is well printed and looks cool, in my opinion. I'm an RCA art graduate and an artist myself, i'd hope my opinion does not mean nothing. This piece is way more interesting than a lot of the older prints. I have Toxic Mary, Applause, Choose Your Weapon, Tesco Petrol Bomb and I honestly prefer this piece way more. It's one of his better pieces in a long while I think. Who cares if it's limited or unlimited. Buy it because you like the art and the statement. Anyone who wants one so bad, take the flight to TLV, take the bus or taxi to Jerusalem, get the taxi to Bethlehem. Stay in the hotel, wait it out for item to be sold. Rather than talking about it endlessly. It's a big mission, that takes time. If this guy in Palestine wants to get as much money as he can, why not! Most of you guys are not living in Palestine with very low incomes are you? Who are you to judge? Stop being so petty, it really makes y'all look like fools. I hope this guy makes as much as he can and he should spend the money on whatever he wishes. People on here asking for proof that he's investing in the elderly and local community... seriously? Are you guys saying this stuff using your Banksy print sale profits to help save the world? I seriously doubt it. As laughnow10 said the Tesco “unlimited” posters sell for 1.5-2.5k now. They cost 5 gbp each. My family live near Stokes Croft and I bought 5. I recently sold 4 for 9k all up. Tesco Petrol Bomb is not printed half as nicely as Boxset either, Tesco looks like a high gloss litho. Having good experience buying / selling / collecting prints, these boxset pieces will eventually run out and regardless end up being worth a great price. I never post on here but seriously a lot of you guys bitching just sound like a bunch of little children. Let this guy make a good profit and if you want one yourself get on the plane and go get one and stop whining and moaning like babies.

I am exited to see the “boxset” with my own eyes and make up my own mind about it. And, worse case scenario even if it’s a shite ink jet print (my guess is that it’s not) you still have to travel to a war zone to get one or hope that someone will sell you theirs. This point is well made above by @bonjourbotique. For me, it’s about the image which is why you should buy any piece of art in the first place. The art is what it’s all about. Plus, everyone kept saying, for months (years?), how they wanted B to release “an open editioned print”....a print “for the fans”...”for the people”. Well, here it is even if some of you are unaware of what has actually occurred.

Banksy • Box Set, Walled Off Hotel, by helium on Oct 8, 2017 7:20:11 GMT 1, Tesco was released before my nan knew who banksy was I'm not jealous I don't have one I don't want one as I have said before I just think those that own them are massively overpricing what they are worth hence my £500 price tag on them... monkey parliament don't seem to fetch too much these days .. I suppose I will have to wait till the eBay listing is at £500 to be proven right but it will happen as banksy himself has said the hotel is open for a year maybe longer that's gonna be a lot of prints for a long time available
