Banksy • Box Set, Walled Off Hotel, by smokey on Oct 15, 2017 21:41:24 GMT 1, It’s all gone very Lord Of The Flies in here lately... [Lately? Hell I love all the schooling I've received while on here. But it's been Lord of the Flies for a long while. Contradiction, good members being booted, and asshole flippers ignored and/or allowed to get everyone worked up.

Banksy • Box Set, Walled Off Hotel, by touchdowntodd on Oct 15, 2017 22:57:09 GMT 1, OK one sold, one left. With one Tshirt, and receipt. Offers above 2000$ + fees and shipping. I think the forum common delirium that the value is gonna collapse down to $1500 is now past. Yeah, we all know it'll be less than $1,500 now.
So true lol

Banksy • Box Set, Walled Off Hotel, by King Ryan Sturtz on Oct 16, 2017 17:19:36 GMT 1, When we set out for the Walled Off, there were no guarantees. No guarantees our crew would arrive in Tel Aviv on schedule. No guarantees we'd make it to Bethlehem without a hitch. And no guarantees that the hotel would have the box set.
But history favors the bold; and we knew the journey would be a hell of an experience irregardless.
When we pull up to the hotel, the first thing that strikes us is its proximity to the wall. The Walled Off's entrance and patio are separated from the 8-meter high, graffiti-covered concrete leviathan by a dusty road barely wider than the steady parade of cars that navigate it. At the corner where two of the walls join is a cylindrical tower taller than the walls it abuts, adorned atop with a phallic-esque head staffed by IDF personnel. At one point, they wave to us.
The art and messages sprayed, scrawled, and etched on the wall range from trite to thoughtful, provocative to quizzical. The rainbow of colors are layered, swirled, and sometimes run together. Those who's home we now stand in are mainly warm, if not initially hesitant. (This also seems to be an apt metaphor for many of the Bethlehemians' feelings about the hotel itself, as we learn through our exchanges with a number of them over the next two days. The positive view is that the hotel is attracting attention and visitors from across the globe who then have an opportunity to interact with, and hear the stories and experiences of, the Palestinian people. That said, it's not all doves and flowers, as there are certainly less positive views of the hotel's presence and those who have been drawn to its glow like moths).
We came for many reasons: to see new cultures and places; to see art from a Warhol of our generation, in the moment it's happening; to celebrate a birthday; to seek understanding and feel a conflict that exists for most on the two-dimensional pages of a book or screen; and to [hopefully] obtain a piece of art history.
But there were still no guarantees.
After appreciating the "Banksquiat" and other art in our hotel room, we ventured downstairs to the gift shop for the moment of truth.
"Hi! How are you today?" we said to the young lady working the shop. We proceeded to tell her a bit about our homes and travels, and asked her about hers, and about the hotel. Then we popped the question:
"Do you have any of the box sets?" She seemed uncertain, turning around and staring at an empty space on the shelf that looks uncomfortably like it's perfectly sized for the box set. She paused for another moment. Our heartbeats quickened.
She reached down to her left, unlocked a cabinet, and slid the door open.
We all saw the white frames, but we couldn't see what was in them..until she pulled one out and Banksy's famously macabre image burst forth, red and green spray marking a chiseled piece of wall, adding depth and color--and life--to the art.
But there were still no guarantees. No guarantees they would survive the remainder of our expedition; no guarantees they'd make it though the myriad security stops at checkpoints, airports, and historic and cultural sites; and no guarantees anyone would be willing to pay what we'd ask for the journey this particular Banksy work took.
Our time in Bethlehem was made richer, happier, and we saw and did more throughout the area (including a birthday dinner at a Bedouin camp in the desert, seeing the original Flower Thrower, Stop and Search, the Armored Peace Dove, Jericho, the River Jordan, and the Dead Sea) thanks to Alaa, our driver, chef, banksy aficionado, tour guide, and friend. Alaa took great care of us and we'd recommend that you hit him up if you can make it over that way. He came recommended on this board, so thank you to previous posters! Now we'd like to pay it forward. His instagram is alaa_taxi_driver_bethlehem. (As an aside, I like his handle; it's direct into the point, though I suppose it doesn't do justice to encapsulating all of his services … On the other hand one look at his photos does tell you!)
We were able to purchase an extra and wanted to offer it here to a fan who will appreciate the effort that went into bringing this treasured piece home. It was not easy and it definitely was not without its worriesome moments as our bags were jostled, inspected, probed, and scrutinized at countless security stops at checkpoints and airports in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, and then again by Egyptian guards at all of Cairo's tourist sites (if you're asking why we had our bags mainly with us, the simple answer is we were on the go so much, it just made sense; and secondarily, we didn't really want our gear (box sets and other valuables) far out of reach).
At the risk of undercutting our own sale, we'll say this: if you have the opportunity, you should go see this part of the world and pick up one for yourself. Our experience was incredible and we came home with much more than just a Banksy box set.
But if you can't go, then definitely buy it from us. We are happy to send photos to authenticate it and have original receipts. PM for details.
As we conclude, we're struck by the seemingly intractable nature of this conflict and have come home with some deeper understanding, albeit one even more incomplete, which will require additional reading and learning.
The journey never ends, so adventure on and keep exploring.

I don't envy you in Cairo, did you enjoy it?
Jordan, did you do Petra?
Where do you recommend to visit?

For those who asked it is the generation 1 model in an Ikea Frame but it has plexi instead of glass with a 04 PE*LD symbols on the front. This was purchased on 10.6 with receipts as well as resident card stamped.
