POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by kaimac on Jan 23, 2018 21:05:59 GMT 1,
Okay, but how many of the 500 made it in to the lottery? Who knows... 300 maybe?
No way of knowing for sure. I know someone who got one in the low twos. But either way - they don't really owe us anything. If a few got skimmed off as a thank you to people who supported them and helped them along the way, then great. I don't take issue with that tbh. Wish a couple had gotten skimmed off and made their way to me, but no such luck.
Again, they could have made millions by issuing a COA and jacking up the prices to milk it for as much as possible, but they didn't. I hear what you're saying about transparency etc, and it must feel really shitty to stand in line forever and then have a bunch of folks swoop in ahead of you, but even so, POW has gone above and beyond imo.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by iamzero on Jan 23, 2018 21:12:12 GMT 1, I must admit I expected a last minute surprise bun fight for one last Banksy print. Maybe they’re too clued up on the bot side of this these days.

The website was unchanged in a decade.

We can only guess why they relisted Banksy, but maybe they did have something to release, but realised they were getting hit with too many automated refreshes or backdoor hacks so thought it would be a bad idea... Maybe didn't want a Nola situation with oversell and a massive headache.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by iamzero on Jan 23, 2018 22:43:20 GMT 1, I was really hoping they’d drop the price on the Date Farmers print or I’d find some better pictures of it to nudge me into pulling the trigger.

If 15 mins elsewhere is your priority, why do you spend so much time on here, 3.067983730389309 to be precise Make sure you think a reply that will pump that self inflated ego even bigger. Hippocrit
In my time being a member here I have posted 1.102941176470588 posts a day Over a period of 136 days
It’s a little bit different to 3.067983730389309 posts every single day Over 1721 days
Yes it might look like I’m on course to beat him, rest assured it won’t happen
I’m mearly pointing out this person told me “to get a life”
Ironic, Hypocritical or pathetic, I don’t mind.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by moron on Jan 24, 2018 0:17:08 GMT 1, So what if POW gave Sale Ends to family and friends...they earned that right. POW didn't owe any of us anything no matter how long ago you bought something off then. I'm not the sentimental type but thanks POW it's a miracle you did what you did considering what a bunch of caners you were. Only thing is POW told the world and their dog that the 500 Sale Ends prints would be allocated via a lottery system which means peoples names picked at random.
Once that rule set by POW themselves is broken, if they did let friends or friends of friends or friends of fiends family friends, aunt Sally, etc have a print. It comes across as not being entirely honest.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Masong on Jan 24, 2018 12:37:53 GMT 1, yea but did my custom set up work better? yes my group absolutely rocked it. we took most of the stock on the hyped stuff. ive had this chat group for a long time, its not just about monitoring, its started off with a couple of mates with developing/sneaker interests and i guess we picked up a couple of forum members along the way, i only made and integrated the pow monitor to the group when the closing down sale started. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't. My point was that there are other plugins that do the same. Maybe your "group" picked up a lot because you ran a military round the clock operation hah. Fair play for putting that much effort in, I'm just pleased the Banksy Sale Ends went to a lottery so we didn't have to deal with your "group" buying up everything in a matter of nano seconds.
I think it’s just a modern day version of the dicks that push in the old style queues on print release day

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Masong on Jan 24, 2018 12:49:57 GMT 1, I think it’s just a modern day version of the dicks that push in the old style queues on print release day I don't know, I don't have anything against it as I've used a plugin myself, mainly for when the Snes classic was being released. What I don't like is when people come across as showboating. I kind of think they'd be better off just not mentioning it. It's obvious it'll rattle peoples cages, just no need. It won't be around like that forever I don't think, tech moves on and some sites will detect it. I don’t blame people for doing it as I’m sure if I had the savvy to I would. I wouldn’t rub peoples noses in it though. We’re all different and all that. No disrespect to hendy though, mans gotta gang 🙄

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Jan 24, 2018 13:05:19 GMT 1, i Always knew people used some sort of bot technology to scoop up everything. It made total sense. What I didn’t like is the people that swore we were paranoid and just not quick enough at F5ing. You’re not winning against technology. The 1 second sellouts are BS.
Too much money at stake for people to not find ways to “jump the line” so to speak.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Rouen Cathedral on Jan 24, 2018 13:16:52 GMT 1, No need to set up custom pages or any of that, there's plenty of plugins out there already. Picked one of them up as a treat for myself as remember playing games first time round. Loving Zelda all over again almost 30 years later For sure, I didn't buy it because I have already all SNES/NES games on a PS2 games... and also these R4card for DS allowing me to play and finish the best games again (because are unplayable, I wonder how I did before) Indeed I was referring to the mini Super Nintendo I got it for the memories! It was stupidly difficult to get and then people were throwing them up on the bay. So I was forced to use that plugin to monitor Argos' site and swiped one when it came up.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by soupy on Jan 24, 2018 14:42:23 GMT 1, the SNES classic release was all hype last fall. it wasn't even that difficult to buy. it was released at midnight on thursday a lot of places and people waited in line all day for it. i went to a store before work on friday morning and bought one with no wait or line. it didn't have the low inventory issues as the NES classic release because they produced more to meet demand (the NES release they were caught off guard with the demand i believe).
as for the page monitors.... it's pretty much the reason i was only able to bag much of what i wanted during the first couple of days after the POW announcement. after that, it became quite clear that everyone had setup shop on the site. the site was super slow and nearly impossible to even see an add to basket button.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by loother on Jan 24, 2018 16:42:47 GMT 1, So I got the last of my POW orders today, which arrived with an unexpected bonus tube, containing a print I never ordered. It's one I really like, hadn't seen pop up on their site over the last few months, and would have vaulted merrily to the top of my short print queue. Indeed, I posted here a couple of days ago asking if anyone had anything to offer by this very artist, so it was all extremely serendipitous. I was delighted, but as I slid it into my portfolio something was nagging darkly on my conscience.
So I emailed them to say thanks for my splendid gift, but that for the sake of my sanity I had to check that it didn't actually belong to somebody else. They swiftly responded to say that it was all a horrible mistake and that I have to send it back otherwise they'll be really, really angry. I offered to buy it, but that only seemed to make them angrier. It was, they said, the property of the artist, so I suggested that I could contact the artist to ask if I can buy it. This made them utterly furious in a somewhat threatening way. I fear POW and I have fallen out of love over this.
Now I have it, I like it, I want to keep it, but I'm not allowed to. This is upsetting. I have learned a valuable lesson about honesty, namely that it isn't always the best policy, no matter what your mother told you.
In conclusion, if anyone has a copy of Vhils' Nothing Lasts Forever in their flat file, please drop me a line.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by rikkirattoe on Jan 24, 2018 16:46:16 GMT 1, Why does anyone need free money? People like this are the reason allot of us had to buy soup cans on the secondary
Yeah but in any hobby where there is a decent aftermarket there really isn't much of a sense of community and eventually it turns into a coalition of selfish people looking to make money in it. Either accept that or continue to be frustrated with this hobby market.
I've had people who I've hooked up with hobby items at hundreds to thousands of dollars below aftermarket cost, straight up mother f**kme on message boards literally only months later. I just accept that maybe they're hurting inside and move along.
My advice is just do what you need to do to get whatever u need (or don't need) and not worry about what other people are doing. Makes life a lot easier when you're not trying to police something you've really got no control over.
Just my 2 cents I guess

Oh, they offered to do that already. They haven't treated me unfairly at all, they've just teased me a bit and made me really, really want something I didn't realise I really, really wanted.

I have learned a valuable lesson about honesty, namely that it isn't always the best policy, no matter what your mother told you. In conclusion, if anyone has a copy of Vhils' Nothing Lasts Forever in their flat file, please drop me a line. Probably better to feel that you did the honest thing... and at the end of the day, you now don't own something that you never did! Although I'd ask them to pay the return postage. Oh, they offered to do that already. They haven't treated me unfairly at all, they've just teased me a bit and made me really, really want something I didn't realise I really, really wanted.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by jaym3 on Jan 24, 2018 17:32:43 GMT 1, People like this are the reason allot of us had to buy soup cans on the secondary Yeah but in any hobby where there is a decent aftermarket there really isn't much of a sense of community and eventually it turns into a coalition of selfish people looking to make money in it. Just my 2 cents I guess Thanks. Good advice, that I should probably listen to. I've probably been a bit too idealistic. I don't collect art to make money. Never flipped or re-sold artwork, given stuff away sure. I know how hard it is to snag some of these items, when I see limit 1 per customer I guess I think let me not be a d*ck and show some respect to the artist's wishes and other art collectors out there. But It's a dog eat dog world I guess, the art world is no different. Even in an art scene like Street Art that's supposed to be giving the finger to the rest of art world that's all about $£€

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by rikkirattoe on Jan 24, 2018 19:57:46 GMT 1, I'd like to grab a couple of those 3Ds that never made it back onto site. If anyone has a lead on where those were sent off to, I'd be really appreciative of a PM when or if those filter back out to the public 👍
