Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by Winks on Oct 14, 2020 11:26:27 GMT 1, It reads to me that the seller is looking to add the CGT to the asking price in the same way people ask for PayPal fees to be paid? I very much am not - the price is very much the total price - besides if you added cgt costs then you are upping the cgt liability! just adding that for the taxman & to confirm will be adhering to money laundering regulations i'm totally against large corporations like amazon not paying full tax, so don't want to be a hypocrite when benefit from this potential windfall
Although the print is jointly owned by the dog and you will be taking advantage of its annual CGT exemption 🐶

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by Charlie Bronson on Oct 14, 2020 14:56:26 GMT 1, How is it mounted? I don’t see any photo corners, hinges etc. I know Frameman is the best at it. Just curious as to how he mounts pieces.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by Moniker Projects on Oct 15, 2020 15:04:25 GMT 1, Pistol is not Moniker Projects. For some reason, they have decided to contact us, find out the information, and then post it on this thread. If I’d have wanted to disclose the price to everyone, I would have done so myself.
I’ve explained on here before when the question was previously raised, but the reason we have POA is so that we can have a conversation about the artwork, and also keep an eye on who is receiving this information. I’ve had situations before when other galleries find out our price, whack 10% on top, and try and sell our stock without our knowledge or permission. I’ve recently even had a situation when a gallery was trying to sell me an original work we already owned.

Gets on my fcking wick, this does. Same as jobs advertised as 'competitive salary' Stinks of 'we're trying to charge as much as possible / we'll pay as little as possible' by not disclosing anything What the world needs is more openness and transparency, not clouds of subterfuge.
I always go by the old adage that if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it.

You post in someone else’s sales thread on a forum to promote your item, then get upset when a good standing member posts the price. That’s rich.

I waited until the artwork was sold before promoting ours. Anyone that was interested in the print, either PM’d or emailed was told the price straight away. I’ve already said our reasons. It’s not Pistols place to post the price.

I disagree. This is a forum where the main concept is to help each other out, communicate and share, not a forum for galleries to peddle their items. GLWS.

That is the price. It’s not something I made up. If you want to sell it unfortunately you have to tell people the price!

A community/forum is nothing without its people. People come here to share opinions and information. This is what has happened here. If your aren’t comfortable with that then perhaps you shouldn't pedal your wares on a forum?

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by Sir Ruddington on Oct 15, 2020 16:37:57 GMT 1, A public forum where Moniker advertised a piece for sale. There is ZERO expectation of privacy. Posting the price is COMPLETELY fair play. What a joke on any gallery crying foul.
This isn't legal, medical or proprietary information. Price information for a bloody piece of paper is about as far down the ladder of protectable information as it gets. Fucking hate this sales game that exists in so many places. But then again, sales people are pretty slimey regardless of whether it is fine art or used cars. Never met a career salesperson unwilling to sell their sick mom for a buck.

Theoretically, yeah but it never works like that. The other gallery always get in contact (usually under another name) and try tirelessly to hammer down the price, and their buyer is often talking to us as well, saying that X gallery has this print too, which creates the illusion that there’s more out there than there actually is. If a gallery contacts us direct, says they have a buyer etc... then we’re more than happy to work with them.
Anyway, this seems to have stirred up quite a discussion. To be honest, I haven’t really seen the community aspect of this forum for a good while, but in future if we decide to post something for sale here, I’ll make sure to include a price.
