Hi,
Thanks for your post & comments. I would have to disagree with your post for the following reasons if you re-read my initial sales post which is very direct & clear :
(1) In the title of the item for sale ..... It clearly states Plate Signed. (2) In the written description ........ It clearly states Plate Signed again. (3) In the written description ....... It clearly states it is not signed & not numbered. (4) I provided a pricing range that I found available as I have not had this print displayed for over 8 years. Hence ....... letting potential buyers have a look around.
Within my description ......... I describe the poster as it is : A Lithograph........ That being a printing process used to print text or artwork onto paper. Originally it was done with a " Stone or a Metal Plate " and of the last 20 years or so ....... "Aluminium" Plates are used.
I try to keep my posts direct & factual but appreciate your input. Here's a signature in Yellow on its way for framing 😊

Good sales pitch with the only thing missing being a price...
EDIT: plate signed or signed in the plate is recognised terminology. I recently saw a print described as 'signed in the image' which I did find mis-leading (incidentally it flew way above market value so I suspect it confused a few others as well).

Yes, signed in the plate is common for prints, though rarely for "urban" prints. I have a Miro which is signed in the plate. It's not a signed print. The plate containing the original image was signed and so the signature was reproduced along with the image when the prints were made from the plate. I also think it's questionable to say that this litho is signed in the plate. The OP is I think referring to the tag. The tag is not Banksy's signature with reference to prints. For example signed golf sales come with and without the tag.

Wow, the poster thing is getting crazy, always worried about it being a fake, not saying this one is whatsoever. But it seems fitting given people are paying stupid money for an unauthorised album cover.

(A) This is 100% Genuine & not a fake. (B) It was distributed by Picture on Walls & was available by post and also at the gallery. (C) Picture on Walls at the time in 2006 were the gallery chosen to distribute Banksy Prints / Originals. This was supplied through them so some authorisation must have been given at the time.
Prices are rising with regard to Banksy......... In all respects of prints & connected promotional material. Its the market 😊

Unless you've got the receipt pretty hard to prove it's legit.

Banksy • Soup Cans Poster, by mitchb on Feb 12, 2017 20:28:24 GMT 1, FYI - you can't describe anything framed as 'Mint'. Reduces the red mist from the collectors on here...... and as you can see, refrain from stating signed, if it does not involve the artist putting pencil to your paper then avoid any such description....Good luck.

Thanks for the information. As the seller :
(1) I can describe it as Mint as it was Mint prior to framing and it was framed properly.
(2) I have explained in prior post what Plate Signed means & if you look at the next post, a forum member has kindly provided a link confirming this.

it is not 'plate signed', because there is no 'signature'.
the tag is printed so as to be part of the whole image.

“Plate Signed” sometimes also known as “Stone Ronde de la jeunesseSigned”. A plate signed work is specifically referring to an original print or graphic on paper with a printed signature. This is precisely what it sounds like; a plate signature is a signature that is part of the composition and is printed along with the art image.
As an example scenario: Artist draws an etching composition onto a metal plate – he then signs the plate and dates it – the plate is inked and pressed onto paper and along with his etching Artist's signature is printed. This would be a “plate signed” original etching.
As this is a poster the question I guess would be if this was run off an original etching with signature by the artist? Or was it a poster reproduction of an original signed artwork (which you would not be able to describe as plate signed) is my understanding.

I also don't think it's signed in the plate. Because the mark that's reproduced is Banksy's tag, not his signature.

Banksy • Soup Cans Poster, by mutatis on Feb 12, 2017 23:35:05 GMT 1, I'm not suggesting that the OP is trying to mislead potential purchasers here.
However, the listings that are referred to on the bay are designed to take advantage of those that are less well-informed. A form of overly creative marketing if you like.
"Plate signed" being the justification for asking an outrageous price. Forum member/s that have listed on the bay, please feel free to correct me.
