Im partly to blame as i posted all this up on the minute it all dropped, but at least if it was behind a wall then those who want to keep or long term collectors would have been first to this stuff. same when people post things going up on pow - it is just as unhelpful although good willed. you end up with these things being sold back to you in the end or losing out on lotteries to people who have no idea what they are buying. can't really moan, if you didn't post alot wouldn't have know about the sales most got individual links like you as signed up to pow site and most would not have been connected to the forum, you would of had a better chance of getting one reading posts most that have signed up did not know of pow

A less than 2 week old print was flipped on here only yesterday by a 600+ Post member (forum kind) so I think post count won’t stop anything. I personally think it would be an idea if nobody commented on the thread. 90% of the time it’s a wind up that people fall for. We know when it’s happening but people still fall for it. And yes it’s ironic when I’m also commenting keeping it alive but the op doesn’t wind me up I just find it boring. Anyway Peace

So the issue is a new member selling straight away? Yes? Politely suggest it’s ‘good form’ to introduce yourself and then explain, with no prior history here it’s difficult to be assured of the sellers legitimacy....
If it’s price, politely suggest the going rate is blah based on blah.
And then, move on.

I rarely discuss art here these days, there’s just not the interest sadly, I was originally here in 06 and money has always been a key motivator- it’s just snowballed. Most old members I know moved on and just don’t have the interest they did originally ... I for my sins still do.

Setting up rules around post limit or join date is not going to eliminate problems but it will minimize them and let people get back to discussing art. The flip (no pun intended) side of allowing anyone in to sell their stuff at any price is what incentive do more experienced members have to keep their prices low if anyone in the world can just come in and take it? It goes both ways. Anarchy has never worked as a governing principle and these are the effects.

People here seem to think that implementing a few basic rules around posting is anathema to the urban art culture. I wonder how many of those people leave their doors open at night for any stranger to come waltzing in. Setting up rules around post limit or join date is not going to eliminate problems but it will minimize them and let people get back to discussing art. The flip (no pun intended) side of allowing anyone in to sell their stuff at any price is what incentive do more experienced members have to keep their prices low if anyone in the world can just come in and take it? It goes both ways. Anarchy has never worked as a governing principle and these are the effects.
