It's not easy being constructive on this forum considering team Banksy has been operating on this forum for years. Some people are very thin skinned and insecure.
Yes anyone else spraying farm animals for publicity would be chastised by everyone inc PETA and if the spray paint is toxic and got into the cows lungs and bloodstream the milk could be contaminated and Defra would order the whole herd nuked.
Some say that Dairy farming is cruel anyway and stencilling farm cows and sheep is OK but I doubt the farmer who owns those animals would have let Banksy anywhere near his favorite farm dog with a spray can. Cos doggies are human etc etc.
I enjoy Rouens book reviews.

No street artists would rip off another street artists freehand lettering style and the "wild style" lettering on the cow is a direct rip off of the Wild style by Zephyr and Revolt done in 1983.
It looks like a bunch of people trying too hard to invent Banksy whilst preferring to rip off other peoples art, text (as in advertising) and ideas.
Mark Chambers, Gunningham, 3D and probably one or two others.

It could be that a bunch of people got together and decided to create a "Banksy" individual via a sort of viral marketing advertising campaign. Where there is no "Banksy" but a group who have created a so called anonymous Banksy person and using the mdeia and PR have got the public to fall for it. They could have been safe paints. I can't imagine Banksy or his farmer friend would have done anything to hurt the animals or put them at any risk whatsoever.

The Bankster saying that in the bronx etc cops or people have guns and saying farmers have guns made out he climbed into a field at night and had to dodge angry UK farmers with guns protecting their animals when in reality the farmer/s were in on it. It's like some sort of cartoon caracter graffiti artist has been created and promoted by people who are taking the Michael and has been suggested that it includes Hirst and his pals.
The elephant in the LA exhibition had better things to do than be forced to stand still whils't covered in theatrical paint blocking it's pores and having flash bulbs going off in it's face.
