The obvious connection would seem to be Jamie Hewlett. If you scan around the room there are a couple of other pieces of art strewn around, one of them looks naggingly familiar. www.gorillaz.com/Scene.phpAnyone else spotted Banksy "tributes" in strange places?
I guess another obvious connection would be that Banksy did the cover for a Blur album.

Why?
Correct me if I'm wrong. The problem was with the OLD TomTom issuing unauthorised checks of authenticity. There have also been cases of people using copied receipts from the OLD Tom Tom.
Tom Tom is now under NEW (couple of years yet?) ownership - Art Republic in Brighton.
I have never heard of problems with Art Republic receipts.
Art Republic are still an open and functioning gallery. This is in your favour. They will check a receipt against their files for you if you have a copy of it or at least a bank statement and date of purchase. They do this once a week on average as too much work doing it every day.
So - If you want to buy this piece - I would e-mail POW to check it was sold to Art Republic. I would also ring Art Republic and get them to check thier files. The seller should really do this on request if you ask before the auction ends.
I don't work for Art Republic but have bought from them before. They sold a lot of Banksy stuff. All I'm saying is : 'be careful about tarringthem with the same brush in public' as that is how rumours are propagated.

I e mailed the seller and they sent me two big pictures of the print. They said it's not a download picture from the internet its just been cropped (i thought the same ). I have never had any problems with art republic. They are pretty helpful.. ;D

I said I wanted to meet with cash if I won and they wouldnt guarantee even though we both in London, they were pretty rude too. I wouldnt touch with a bargepole just for the s h i t customer service. Probably cost them at least £300 me not going to be involved in the last minute.

A friend and I managed to get the pics and they're spray painted onto cardboard. I was wondering whether they may be originals and if there is any way of telling. They are 800x600 and not signed or numbered. My friend died last year and im trying to find out what happened to his copy. His had the traditional green mohican.
I love my print and wouldn't sell it but his might be hanging around in a friends loft and would fund a fantastic send off for him if it was a genuine piece!
I have a pic but cant figure out how to post it on here, being a bit special and all that

i would say the buy it now was set a bit low - it was snapped up immediatedly.
and the one at £1.5k was pulled with a day or two to go so you cant really count that.
