as luck would have it, I'm on a stag do in Berlin while the stolenspace show is on at Urban Nation.
Only half or so of our group will be bothered about it though, so can anyone recommend any good bars and/or eateries near to Bulowstrasse?

Hi. Are taking a trip to Berlin in the start of jan. Do is there somthing I have to see there? Streetart or gallerie shows?
First time there and want to se some good art not just drink beer

This solution seemed fairer than spending time responding to someone who was requesting advice while simultaneously making it difficult for other people to advise them.]

How many days have you got in Berlin?

If you're looking for street art and graffiti, there's certainly plenty of it. I generally dislike them, but consider taking a street art or "alternative Berlin" tour if you have limited time and need to prioritise efficiency over DIY and independent discovery. Google is your friend here.

Although non-street art and non-graffiti, I myself would focus on:

(i) Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design; and

(ii) Helmut Newton Foundation.

regarding weather: january, february are excatly the months berlin is and feels wet and nasty cold. but maybe you are lucky. today we have 12 degrees celsius and partly blue skies thanks to global warming so there may be hope for january but do not expect to spend all day riding a bike or chillin in the sun.

sightseeing: i must say that above is more then i know regarding urban art etc. if you dig more, check out the many museums like neue- and alte nationalgalerie, deutsche historisches museum and the many more.

of course, a must see would be around brandenburger gate. all the political offices, the little bit of wall left, bunkers and hundreds of other places.

food: let me know what you like (where you stay) and i can give you some nice places where people from here would go.

party: what music you like would decide what clubs you would want to go...berlin is known for electro at the moment. so berghain is worldwide know (hard to get in), watergate is good, ritter butzke.
and then there are some fancy playces like puro (skyroof).

if you do not have a hotel yet. stay at the 25 hour hotel (direct view at the zoo west berlin) and the bar above is great. and the hotel is not expensive.
if you want to stay more where all the sightseeing stuff is, stay around rosenthaler platz.

and then it depends how long you stay....
